I remember when drawing this I was surprised at just about all of them being small, but it makes sense to me. I guess I've always just liked that in characters when they're sorta making up for a height difference with power, etc.

I'd love to see it, for sure. I was trying to look and see who all your characters were for potential birthday gifts, but I couldn't really tell much about who was who. (Plus, I didn't end up having time for it...q.q)

I'd definitely love to see that! And if it's too difficult of a choice between a few of them, given the way the rules are, it does favor drawing more than one since it's a full-body dynamic pose for the contest entry. I've heard some artists speaking of having the characters fight one another, which would certainly happen. :3

For the contest, I'm intending on drawing two more of the male characters just to round out the 6 characters that will be the main bosses of Nephryst's platformer. 

In terms of the characters on here, all of the silhouettes are currently other characters that I'll be adding, though it's looking like I won't be able to add them to this current contest. (Definitely a future one, though.)

If I do manage to draw them in the next 8 weeks, they'll be added here.

Well I look forward to seeing the other characters. How is the platformer going? Are you still in this designing stage or are you prototyping like I am?

Maybe one of your characters could be fighting one of mine. I have quite a few characters as of late and I'm sure there could be some potential combos that would look nice. Potentially could be someone else with a weapon like Chera from my comic, Zaruna, or Dark Bolt (melee).

So far, I'm still definitely in the design stage, but after having met some game devs at an anime convention recently, the common thread I noticed among them, for better or for worse, was the use of the Unity engine, which I started learning more about when I came back. I'm at the point where I literally have the ball rolling. So far, all I've done is create a small platformer stage with a ball rolling that can jump, collect coins, the coins make noises and give off particle effects and the scene has lighting. (Camera follows the player, too.) Very very basic prototyping kind of stuff, but it's a tutorial I'm following, of course. By the end of it, I'll hopefully have learned a lot more which I can apply.

And I do allow that for the contest, yes. I think it would definitely be interesting to see and I encourage it. :>

Yup! There are plenty more back there, so when I get to all of them, I'll be separating this between girls and guys, so that it doesn't get too long. (Just having the guys dimmed in the back, and girls dimmed in the back respectively.)

But yeah, it's really really emphasized with one of the taller guys here. Even if 6'3 isn't that tall or at least that uncommon.

After seeing the majority of them all together...with the tallest one being 5'4 so far, it certainly does seem that way. I might make a couple of them a bit taller, still but it's looking pretty clear that I like the whole idea of shorter characters beating up on taller ones or larger enemies, etc.

There are 13 girls in total. All in the front row. 7 of them don't have an official ref yet, but I have their designs already drawn from years and years ago. Just have to update it.

As far as the contest, I'm planning on drawing 3 more of them before June 1st. Maybe more during the contest too.

And definitely more on the way! I got a scanner now, so I've got about 130 more sketches to work with. And...maybe 2 thirds of them are Nephryst, but there are a lot of others in there too...XD

I happened to start with most of the shortest ones, so now it's gonna further emphasize how small they are. XD

But yeah, it's great being able to keep track, and since I don't usually draw detailed backgrounds, it's a good way to give scale to what they look like compared to other people. Weight is...probably not important. XD

Definitely helps keep track. Most people didn't know Nephryst was so short, so there's a ton of commissions and even contest entries of her like 2 or 3 heads taller than she is. Was my fault for not laying that out or having her standing against anything in pictures to give her scale. XD
