For those who aren't up on their behind the scenes history of the show, when it all started in '63, the BBC gave the job of prop building to Shawcraft Models, who built many things including the 1st TARDIS console & room, and the early Daleks. In the above, you have the 1st, 2nd & 3rd versions.

This took about 23 hours to render (probably because my laptop has just enough processor power, the reflective surfaces, and the fire/smoke), and then I decided to add a grunge effect, and smoke from the gun barrels (for dramatic effect).

After building Police Boxes, I decided to try building Daleks, and I figured it made sense to build the very first, which meant that with a few minor changes, I'd have almost every version of Dalek from the Classic era.
