It's back ..here's #5
started texturing using max's baking / unwrap options in combination with textporter
used dreamscape oncemore for the water and the wakes (This is an unedited render im quite satisfied with the results)

Great job! I do ocean stuff all the time and it is the final frontier as far as animation is concerned. It's one tough bugger!!! You've done well with the foam. Maybe a spray particle system on the bow would be a good touch. Did you do a step by step tutorial on the foam? I just purchased DreamScape and would really appreciate some direction. Once again good job!!!

Your work is so brilliantly detailed. It's been a pleasure watching this one being built. I think it's cool how you envolved all of DA into the creation process by posting each step. I'm sure you've made a big influence on new artists by being so generous.

As a still picture you have convinced me completely! I also had a look at your animation and there is one thing missing there and that are some waves produced by the ship. I couldn't do it myself, but sinds you seem to be quite patient, maybe you figure out a way to make 'm. Also i think the ship travles a bit two fast. If the ship moves half the speed it looks a lot larger. Anyway... you did a REALY good job so far!!

speed is actualy its maximum .. these ships can do about 30-40 knots ..
the foam is still bugged yea ..
it has no "hekgolf" wich is the distortion created by the engines when pushing the water ..
i'm doing my best to figure that out ..

I know it's a little late to say (it's 2006), but if i remember right , the top speed of the Graf Spee was 29 knots or under .
