Description
Meet Kivu(thirst-Swahili) and Yiara(similar-Yoruba)! These two are part of two prides who are on uneasy, tense terms with each other, due to past conflicts. In order to reach peace, the two betrothed their youngest cubs, in hopes that they will one day marry and unify the prides. For the moment, the two seem to get along with one another very well and their future together seems bright. Or does it?

Well given mine and Disney's penchant for happy endings, let's say it does end with a happy wedding.

Kivu here is Kavu's son and is very playful, energetic, adventurous, and a bit proud, though loyal to both his pride and his friends, and his large extended family. He understands that his new playmate is his future betrothed and the history between the two prides, so he tries his best to befriend her and get along. He's very family-oriented and willing to make the sacrifices to see everyone doing happy and healthy, maybe sometimes to his own detriment. Fortunately for him, Yiara is very charismatic, thoughtful, and very adventurous, and thankfully these two get along like a house on fire. However she's also very perceptive, mature, and compassionate, and is able to see Kivu for who he really is and also see when he's stressing himself out trying to make things work between them for the sake of both their family/pride, and is able to help calm him down.

Trailing after them is Yiara's best friend and pridemate Tii(tea-Yoruba), who decided to tag along for fun, though also was asked to by the adults to keep an eye on Kivu to make sure he doesn't do anything weird/bad to her friend. A bit more reserved and cautious, as well as having a penchant for grooming/cleanliness, she still enjoys being included and joining in on the fun. Also, she is a bit of a gossip and reporter for her pride about the whereabouts/activities her friend gets into(conveniently adding credence to her name). I kinda also see her as the Rosaline of the two, specifically this one , though never had any romantic feelings for Kivu and only started supporting the relationship after she saw him really caring for her friend and after Kivu actually came to her for advice about how to make a good impression on Yiara. Definitely future maid of honor/godmother.

Finishing up on the miscellaneous character list(not including TV/extremely miscellaneous characters), I wanted to finish up the list of Simba Pride Active Play Characters , specifically the unusual designs of 'Kovu and 'Kiara'. I imagine their pride are close to the other SPAP cubs pride . Tii's design is based off of an early cover of the TLG book "Can't Wait to Be Queen" cover (as well as JR-Style' s version of her), and her name was supposed to be some sort of combination of Tiifu/Zuri. I really tried there guys(Turi/Zifu/Zurfu/Tiri/etc.).

Initially this picture was just going to have K/Yiara and Ki/ovu in it, but then I decided to add in Tii last minute. I'm also extremely proud of how everyone's colors turned out, since I was initially skeptical about how saturated they were. Also, look at that background! Not a single mountain/background hill in sight! And actually well designed tree bark!

Also, as a bonus, I like to think these three have never met Kovu/Kiara/Zuri/Tiifu, but are partially aware of each other based on the pride's they associate with.
