Chapter 11: Our First Mission!

Many days passed since the kidnapping of Azurill.
Team Hunter had steadily become stronger, and more reliable. They steadily grew to be one of the more well known teams in the area. Espeacially when Crest figured out exactly how to manage the surprising flow of requests, as a long as the pokemon where in the same dungeon Crest had Leon and herself helping out more than five or six pokemon at a time. Her happiness only grew when she found that Chatot could not touch the money that was found in the dungeons, those spoils were all for them. So Crest took to hunting down a few pokemon in the dungeons, gaining levels and money before Leon could even react.
Leon was whipped.
Between Crest's excessive training, her hunting sessions, and grammar lessons, Leon had no time off for himself.
Not to mention he was beginning to worry, Crest had stopped reffering to herself as human, and whenever he brought up the possiblity she would go and change the subject. That wasn't the only strange thing, she had stopped walking on all fours refusing to touch the ground with her forepaws. It made Leon worry a little bit. Either Crest had truly forgotten her previous belief, or she was completely avoiding the truth, either way was hazardous to her mental health.
Today Loudred and Diglet asked Crest and Leon do the watch duty, so now they were underground looking for for the majority of the day. It was the perfect opprotunity for Leon to speak with Crest.

"Crest?", questioned Leon gently as they made their way to the sentry position.

Crest looked gently at Leon, her mystic purple eyes shone brightly in the darkness, "Yes Leon?"

"Is somthing wrong?"

She shook herself free of dirt, "No, what do you mean?"

"Well, You used to talk about being human, you don't anymore" ,he breathed feeling Crest's body tighten and the air grow heavy with static. She was nervous about this subject...

"Don't worry abou it Leon- Ponyta!", she shouted as she glanced upwards towards the grate.

"Crest", Leon persisted, "Come on, tell me. You're acting weird."

"I am not acting weird!" she snapped fur bristling slightly, "There's nothing wrong, I'm normal!", she shook her head looking up at the grate,"Vulpix!"

"Crest you can trust me", whispered Leon, "I won't think any less of you. I just want to know that you're okay...", he glanced up at the grate, "Elekid"

"It's just me", he said softly, "No one else has got to know. Trust me."

"I'm not okay Leon", she whispered softly, "It's dark, very dark, I don't like the dark", she hissed softly, "I feel like I'm gonna get swallowed up and I'm scared."

"Hey hey, it's alright", he said softly, "I'm here, look I'm your nightlight", he joked

A blush came to his cheeks when she cuddled up under him, "thank you"

Leon smiled softly, "Heh, anything for you Crest... and if you think you're human. I believe you, okay?"

She let go of Leon and smiled at him gently, "Yeah... thank you, that means alot"

They continued on with work until late that evening when they were called off and brought back into Wigglytuff's lair. The great pink pokemon greeted them with his usual friendly-friend speech then brought them up on a mission.

Chatot looked at them with his usual distain, "We have a mission for you two. This will be your first mission assigned to you directly from the guildmaster, so listen up. We're only going to debreif you once!"

"Thank you Chatot!", sang Wigglytuff pulling out his world wide wonder mapp, "There's a waterfall, in that area there's said to be a massive treasure there. I want you two to go check it out.", he winked t Crest, "bring back a gift if you can!"

Leon lit up like a candle, "Really treasure?!"

Crest pumped her fist in the air excitedly, "Yes!"

The stares she got made her blush as she shrank back down into herself. Before she could mutter a sad sort of apology, Leon pumped his fist into the air as well, "That's right! We're excited!"
She smiled at him as he continued to speak, "From this point on we're together me and Crest! We win together and we fail together. We trust eachother completely! TEAM HUNTER!"

Crest pumped her fist into the air again, "TEAM HUNTER FOREVER! We won't let you down guildmaster", she said.

With that the two left Wigglytuff's room to prepare for the upcoming adventure.
Wigglytuf watched them and smirked, "See Chatot? Don't they remind you of us? Two young awkward pokemon out to change the world"

Chatot sighed, "You're sure it was wise to send a charmander to waterfall cave?"

"Absolutely not! That's a death trap waiting to happen! Didn't I tell you about that turrent of water at the end of the cave?", he crossed his arms, "If it were any other charmander I would be frightened. But Leon's got Crest, and they've got that stone. He won't die that easy. Besides if they can't pass this, they won't make it by the other obstiacles to come"
