I'm always in the mood for Astro angst.

Poor little sweetheart. Β When you're created as a replacement for someone, but you can't ever be that person... All those times your father said he loved you... he didn't mean you. He meant Tobio...

Wanted to try a glitch aesthetic with Astro. He's the perfect character for it, IMO.

Yeah... Originally, Dr. Tenma (Astro boy's creator) had made Astro as a replacement for his own son, who'd died in a car crash. Tenma learned to love Astro as his own son. But, when he realized Astro wasn't growing like a real human boy, he got upset and disowned Astro...

Astro had to work in the circus as a slave, before he was rescued by another scientist, Dr. Ochanomizu. Ochan turned out to be a much better guardian/father figure to Astro. He's always there when Astro needs him, and he even built Astro a robot family.

The kid might be a 100 000 horsepower robot superhero, but he is still a little boy. He still needs love and support. The fact he had that taken from him in his origin story is rather heartbreaking.

Oh man that is really fucked up that scum Dr Tenma did that, its a wonder why he even created him in the first place because ofcourse he's not gonna grow and develope like a real boy.

Atleast thatΒ Dr Ochanomizu knows how to treat him right.
