I actually don't know much about the ghost rider stories, I read a few of the very old comics but not much. I just prefer my heroes to be heroes.
My favorite bit about it were the visuals. Like, I love the flaming skull and chains in this image. And you've got some nifty effects going on in the background behind the flames.

Everyone's forgotten it. Not just in comics. Movies, TV, novels, it's everywhere.
Can't have a goodie goodie as the lead. Nonono, have to be dark and gritty and tormented and violent so audiences will think the lead is edgy.
FU** that. Gimme the 1980s spiderman or captain america or the Chris Reeves Superman any day.
Actually that's one of the things I like about the version of Thor in the avengers movies.

She was a pretty fun character. Heck, even her book was pretty good.
Marvel just didn't seem to care much/put much effort into supporting her...
