Poor Heather was always too boastful for her own good. Sure she's the fastest wolf their territory had ever seen, but her arrogance just didn't sit well with the pack. Some of the younger hunters, tired of being shown up, decided to teach her a lesson. The race was fixed from the start, she knew they'd never beat her in a fair contest of speed, and it never occured to her that they had other motives. She slid on the slick wet grass tumbling head first into the tree, dislodging the wasp's nest. With a thump the nest landed on her back, broke open, and rolled onto the grass besides her. All the poor young canine could do was howl and claw at the bark of the tree as she was punished for her arrogance! Much to the amusment of her competition.
