    ·       Flames are invisible to everyone but himself on the usual basis. He can ‘feel’ where his own flames are and will not be harmed by it. Some of his family members have this kind of flame magic too, but since everyone’s fundamental magical properties are different, they’re not immune to each other’s flames. However, they can kind of tell if each other’s fires are present.
    ·       His body has high tolerance to heat in general.
    ·       At his current level, he can conjure flames from his palms most of the time from his conscious control, but he does have the ability to conjure fire from his throat. Flames can emit from his pores, but it’s very minimal and only happens if he loses control.
    ·       Advance control of this flame includes healing properties (cauterization). It also includes controlling it with precision, ranging from flame volume to flame range. They can also launch fireballs once they master flame precision and range control.

He treats other people with dignity and respect even if he has an underlying bias which causes him to dislike them in his heart. This part of him is seen as “fake” by some, but he does speak out his mind honestly when it comes to be of importance. Being empathetic due to his upbringing, it helped him in forming the mindset of reading a situation from different points of view before making a conclusion. He is genuinely hurt if someone does think that he’s faking himself. He takes most of his troubles into his heart and bottles it up. His train of thought is in line of “if speaking it out doesn’t help solve the situation, it’s better to not bring it up.” Often heavily burdened by his own thoughts and overthinking, he may seem to be spacing out, but he’s really still paying attention.

If someone has a contradicting mindset to his, Hui just accepts it as it is (meaning he won’t forcefully want the other to change if he thinks that their mindset is not the most morally correct based on his own judgment), but he would like to know why they would think so. This has riled up some other people he’s met. With his tendency of thinking from multiple perspective also comes the pressure of doing it. It’s actually stressful for him to think constantly about how other people would perceive things. His next goal is to learn to fully accept people as they are. He tries not to judge people before he even knew them, but he still finds some difficulty in this. Regardless of that, he does a good job in not expressing any unfavourable opinions he has, unless the context of the situation requires it or if he feels close enough. Generally, he is open and welcoming to new information and knowledge that are new or different from what he knows.
Hui’s fear of doing something wrong that leads up to dire consequences leaves him to constantly think of back up plans. Tiring as it may be, he tries his best to mitigate problems from occurring, but if it does, he would take responsibility for what he does wrong. It’s a fearful struggle with himself in his heart, but ultimately his core belief is to do the right thing. (Not that he’s gotten in any big trouble yet.) For those who crossed him in the past, he does not forgive them unless the reasoning for their actions were truly to be empathized with. He’s still trying to be more forgiving but his tendency of bottling his feelings up causes him to think more selfishly. All in all, he’s often overloaded with his own thoughts which stresses him out.

Loved and doted by his family since he was young, his mom and grandma patiently taught him the ways of being good when he caused trouble. Thanks to this, he grew up to be a man deeply rooted with filial piety. Relationships are very important to him and he values those he treasures deeply.
    Hui never knew much about his father because he passed away when Hui was young during an archaeology expedition. His Eastern dragon magical lineage is from his father’s side, which his grandmother also has. His mother is extremely skilled in the trades of jewellery, with her negotiating talent and eye for valuing gems. She never remarried or left the house permanently despite facing deep grievance because she decided that her son was all that she needs in her life.
    When he was younger, he burned up several books and parchments due to bad control of his magic. He also caused burns to his mother and grandmother in accidents before, which he’s still regretful of it and also grateful that they still love him. He’s wary of contact with other people due to this. Constantly carries a grabber (the cane-like object in the app) which handle is made of sillimanite because it is resistant to heat. He uses it to grab at flammable objects such as books and scrolls when he’s not feeling very attentive, which may cause him to accidentally conjure up some heat. He hopes that he won’t need to use it anymore one day once he controls his flames better.
    He has his own thoughts regarding the history of the world and wishes to learn more. He has limited on knowledge as his main source is only scrolls and books in his house and also from the local neighbourhood (which some are very wary to lend any to him in fear of item destruction due to his flames). His main motivation to learn is his curiosity behind people’s actions, what makes them do what they did. It helps him to understand the people around him better, especially those he cares about like his mother and grandmother and other friends.

2. Hui’s first love was a boy in the neighbourhood. The boy was really outgoing and often brought Hui everywhere to play. They were childhood friends to best friends to lovers, but broke it off when he was 15 because they both fell out of love. Hui thought about it and decides that perhaps it wasn’t considered “love” and everything was just for fun because they were young and growing, but he still reminisces on their memories together sometimes. It’s sweet, he thinks.
    His second love was a girl he met when he was 16. She was someone who shaped how he perceived love and pain, someone he thought he would never ever let go. How madly in love he was with her was equal to how deeply in pain he was in when she had to move far away. There was barely any future for the both of them because they held different paths in life. Their relationship had an “expiry date” which was the day she moved away. Hui didn’t follow after her because his family’s business is deeply rooted here and he was still very young. He dreamt of being engaged to her and them marrying, but he finally took off his couple ring with her (they used to joke that it was their engagement ring) when he was 19, a year after she moved away and cut off contacts with each other. Hui thinks that he’s still young and his thoughts back then were definitely rash, but his love for her was genuine. Slowly but surely, he’s moved on from this now at age 20. It still depresses him if he overthinks this, but he distracts himself with logical reasoning of why it happened.
