huuur dragon muse is lively today. so i did a simple reff for one of my reaper species. = \

i intend to do them all but meh
we'll see how far I get.

of all the different types of Reapers the Darters are the most common, and wile they do not poses the traditional scythes like their brethren, they are just as dangerous.

their cousins the seekers look very much the same with the exception that the have scythes and no legs.

Darters Swarm like locusts it's still unknown WHY they swarm, they hunt in packs of 6 - 12 but never in a swarm. it's as if an unknown will causes them to gather. but the purpose and cause are still a mystery.

darters like most reapers have no soul, or communicative intelligence to speak of. they do not live in hives like other reapers, instead they are cave and rock dwellers.commonly seen around beaches

Darter traits:

plasma eater
technology eater
acid spit and blood
implode upon death
low sense of logic (no common sense )
easily tamed and trained and make good house pets (LOL)
high pitched scream and electronic vocalizations

Darter stats:
on land: top speed is 8mph
in the air: top speed is 400mph
swimming: despite being beach lovers they cannot swim as their delicate webbing rips when they flail in the water

lifespan: oldest darter on record was 10 years old

average height: around 5 1/2 foot tall
average weight: around 120 pounds
wingspan: 10 - 12 feet
length: 15 - 20 feet

common illnesses:
tidewater: the darter has ingested too much salt.
signs: begins to foam at the mouth, webbing begins to dissolve. the Darter often becomes blind due to buildup of foam and salt under the mask that burns the eyes. they reek of low tide and often breakdown from the inside out.
treatment: no cure has been found, best treatment is cold freshwater rinses and purging the stomach.

ventbloat: the third lung is unnecessarily opened and unable to close or circulate air to the body because the return tube is not in use, it pumps the air into the chest cavity. can be caused by overchill
signs: bleeding from the mouth, labored breathing, bloated chest.
treatment: can be repaired through surgery.

overchill: the darter's internal cooling system is overacting, 'causeing the darter's body temperature to drop dangerously low. the body becomes desperate to warm up and the Darter has been known to, but not commonly dies from influx of temperature changes as it seeks heat sources.
signs: Darter is cold tot he touch, labored breathing, continually seeking light or heat. cold like symptoms
treatment: medication, hot soup and a heating pad. the darter can overcome this sickness on it's own
