Hey WF. Let me give you a bit of advice. I know you really want this girl to stay with you, but I say this: don't act like it. Don't beg her to stay with you, don't say "I'll do anything if you stick around." If you do that, she will be repelled even more. It's because you look dependent and weakened in her eyes if you do that. Stay strong. Don't cut the relationship, but don't act like it's all you have.

My god, you're so creative. This is so close to experiences of my own and those of many others, I'm sure. Here's a quote that could be of some use:
"Overfamiliarity breeds contempt."
My own beau said that to me when talking about his previous relationship. Now we, too, have been together for a year, and of course there have been arguments. It's not that bad now tho...I think you have to remember that if you're around anyone too often, too much, with no alone-time or time with others, you will naturally go crazy. It has nothing to do with the other person. You just notice little irritating things and you'll fall into an ugly cycle of fights.
Also, try to keep perspective. When people are quarreling they tend not to recognize the truly important things.
Eh, just a little advice--I don't have an "answer" for certain, just givin ya what I've learned so far.

I feel what you're going through here. I've been there many times, all with the same girl. I'm not this creative when I'm depressed about relationship things, I usually just pick up my guitar and start playing. Great job to chronicle the time here. this is definately my new fav. this is so well done. I love it. I am sorry to hear baout your and your gf. I love love, it is a wonderful thing to have, but the worst thing to lose. It is also the hardest to find. Hmmmm....well that is too deep for me, but I love this, what a fantastic idea and I wish I could have seen this as a daily deviation or something, bcoz it certainly deserves it. Nothing but good wishes for the journey ahead! Just remember that each relationship is original, different from any other that anyone has ever experienced, so don't take other people's advice too seriously, or statements like "a relationship that has no arguments isn't healthy" (a personal example, since me and my girlfriend are at the 6 month barrier and haven't argued yet, but not because we avoid issues).
Great pixel work as well, it's brilliant in it's simplicity, props for that.

i think it's great how you managed to bring such a complicated (well, i assume it's complicated, because, well, it usually is) thing down to a relatively simple, almost diagram-like, piece of pixelart. it looks very good, the way you put in the seasons of the year works great, even though you only used 1 kind of object for every season. it really works.

First of all, I feel your pain. There's nothing like the feeling of someone slipping away from you, except the pain of actually losing that person. I just hope you don't have to feel the latter. Good luck to you on that.
As for the deviation, it's quite interesting. I give you a 10 on the unique quality of it, that's for sure. A pixel timeline is not something I would have ever thought of, but you really did an amazing job with it. The lack of color is pretty cool too, but what I really like about it is the simplicity and the little drawings here and there. The way it changes over the year. Very nifty indeed.
PS. the full view wouldn't work in Mozilla Firefox 0.8, all I got was a blank white image. In IE 6 it worked fine.
