If I could put my finger on why I really love this one, I would tell you... but it's just endearing to me, I lovez it.

This was the first shot that evening... we spoiled her before hand... ^Battledress is an award winning makeup artist, and Jaimie simply LOVES her work, and never thought in a million years she would EVER get a chance to work with her, and when ^Battledress grabbed her and said "come with me" I thought she was going to melt! ^Battledress picked out the clothes for her (with her help of course, but she got the yay, or nay because she told ^Battledress that she wanted to look serious, and professional) and got the royal treatment.... she spent close to an hour in the makeup chair, getting both hair and makeup done, and loved every second of the spoiling.

Keep in mind, this is a girl that doesn't normally wear makeup, and she was simply treated like royalty...

So that glow you see is not the lights! No siree... that is her own glow from being soiled, and quite happy!

Beg to differ with such a glowing description of my involvement… but the model was not treated like royalty. Taken under wing a bit, yes. But I don’t consider that spoiling, just being a professional...

My duties as a makeup artist are to 1) understand what look is required for the shoot 2) make the model presentable to camera 3) respect the model by working in as clean, sanitary and professional a manner as possible.

She did get “the talk” as so many potential models have a lot of misinformation when it comes to what it is to be a “real” working model (take that to mean earning money as a professional in the industry).

Among the topics told to any aspiring model:

1) Reality TV is not REAL. Unlearn what you think you know of the modeling industry based on TV.

2) HD film and Digital Photography have significantly altered what it takes to be a model or actor. What was acceptable even 5 years ago is now no longer the case.

3) A model’s job: Have great skin. Have great hair. Be well groomed. Be healthy and fit. Be able to emote and take direction. On time to set is LATE. Be responsible.

4) Casting: A model who requires $$$ in post processing will be passed over for one who does not. No Client wants to spend $$$$ on unnecessary photo editing (correcting skin texture, roots, and such).

5) Establish realistic expectations of your viability as a model. Fashion, runway, lifestyle and figure modeling, for example, each have unique requirements and standards.

6) Denial is not your friend. Take the bitter bill and be able to accept constructive criticism.

7) A portfolio is never done. It must be kept current. It must show range and versatility. Especially when starting out, week images need to be pulled as quickly as they can in favor of stronger ones. A few strong images are better than a volume of mediocre ones.

8) Don’t expect $$$ or “kit fees” or “gas money” while building a portfolio. Better photographers result in better jobs which result in better photographers…..

9) Be selective with who you work with. Understand that once that image is posted on the internet, it is there forever.

Glad you agree.

It hard to grow as an Artist, let alone as a Person, without being able to do some serious introspection every now and again.

Exactly... what was it my dad used to say? "It is not "pride" that is the sin, but rather, it is "false pride" that will become the downfall of man".

One can never achieve, let alone improve, if they convince themselves they are already perfect...

Well, applause to all who were involved in the production, as it's a splendid composition. I think that which I love the most about Jaimie is her unique glowing personality, and it surely shines through.
