Description
Rhea (2013)Created for Longship Armoury for their upcoming limited edition "Legends Line" swords, the Silvia.
This is the final farewell to the Silvia design, being limited to only 20 of its kind.
Pre-orders for the first half of the 20 will begin this Friday, April 19th. The remaining orders will be available as planned in May after the release of the prototype. Here you've implied an angelic aura to your picture without resorting to wings (or semblance to wings). Her skirt flows with that airy quality that many artists seem to struggle with. She still has that battle stance but with a more wary footing that looks very natural. Her expression seems to say, "Go ahead. Think about attacking."
I also like how you mirrored her armor and skirt from the sword. A subtle choice but one that makes the picture much better.
I've had to step away from my initial viewing because I was so enamored with the work. Now that I've had a chance to take it in I can appreciate the piece all the better. Well done!
