It's amazing how well the old cars stand up to the elements..A new car would rust through in a couple of years..

I have thought about that many times David.Β I don't really know the reasons but I wonder if in making cars lighter they have used thinner metal.Β I have also heard, that recycled metal has impurities that are introduced to the product.Β Not really sure, but your observation seems very valid.

Oh yes..it's way thinner these days..and lower quality alloys that are lighter..they don't hold up well to weather or collisions.. add in all the rubber and plastic and we get expensive junk.
