Now that's what I call a focal point. lol
The pretty, but uninspiring on it's own, landscape is a perfect backdrop to set him off.

thanks Kevin.
I got hassled by the owner after I too the shot. Just a misunderstanding, but I wonder how I would have taken it after that experience? I guess we will never know.

Hey, why was that, Wayne? You didn't do anything wrong when you took a picture ...

I think he had some valid reasons, but often we humans misplace our reasons onto situation in which they don't fit. We have all done it. So I cut the guy some slack. he has been hassled by people for the kind of work he does. I think his reaction was appropriate given the background that he perceived was present. That back ground was not really there of course, but he perceived it that was.... at least initially. So all in all, we need to give the guy a break.

Sorry, Nag is English colloquial for a horse.

yes I knew that. But it is not a word we use here out in the wild west so it was a bit of a delightful surprise.

Great concept! Very beautiful and symbolic! Nothing's so solid and nothing's so fragile like freedom! Picturesque clouds, vast field, a running horse - are classical images for freedom but barbed wire makes it look fresh and very thoughtful!!! Great job again!!! Love it a lot!

thanks vera,
as someone else said.... there are limits to freedom, and the wire symbolizes that.

It's a beautiful picture, but I find the title ironic with the barbed wire fence in the foreground...

I always loved them, but I haven't ridden in years and years.

They always intimidate me. I think they are beautiful, but I have only ridden a few times in my life. Orca and I often see them on our walks in the country. It is funny to watch him take control of the situation. Even such large creates will bow to his will.

I've known lots of people who feel that way, but I never did. Going across a field at a dead run on horseback is probably as close to flying as I'll get - it's a nice feeling. You should try it. Orca will back you up.

Oh, no, no, no, my dear. I'd pay Orca to chase that horse so I could watch you hang on and scream.
Such a good Orca - I'll pay him in peanut clusters.

WHAAATTTTT>>>>>!!!!!!
You crazy lady... peanut clusters have chocolate.... chocolate is poison to dogs.... you would try to kill my beautiful ORCA... He is mad at you now... he says he is going to chase you and let me watch you scream..... lol..
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Blueskye27 In reply to WayneBenedet [2009-10-12 04:44:40 +0000 UTC]
You've got that all wrong. Your beautiful Orca will follow me anywhere for peanut clusters. My favorite dog of all time was Shep (an English Shepherd - probably a cousin to Orca from the looks of him), and he loved, loved, loved peanut clusters. Yes, I know it's supposed to be poison for dogs, but Sheppie ate a BUNCH of them and lived to be fourteen.
Besides, I hear bones are bad for dogs, too. In the thousands of years that dogs have been around, why didn't they get this message?
So, the crazy lady isn't listening....

WayneBenedet In reply to Blueskye27 [2009-10-12 15:11:06 +0000 UTC]
lol.....
that may be true.... but that does not mark him as a very intelligent dog.... just one who likes human food.
But he tells me that he is still pissed at you... so this is more of a crap shoot than you might know. And apparently Ralph is corroborating his story... so who knows. Any way, I have rented a horse for next Saturday. what time did you say you and your sugar momma bank role were arriving????
ps... its not a sure thing for me either though.... both of those buggers have turned on me from time to time. Dogs and imaginary fleas are such fickle friends.

So, is Orca still made at me? If he is, I know you're just keeping him stirred up. No dog could resist me this long otherwise... er...um... does that mean I only attract dogs?

Do you REALLY expect me to say anything to that?????
No he is not mad at you, it was gone very quickly. He is a VERY forgiving dog.
have a good day Cindy.

You? Naturally not. But I thought Ralph would get a kick out of it.
Besides, no dog ever gets angry about chocolate - only their weird owners do...
Hope your day is good, too.
