what kind of image did you use to displace it or was it an algorithm caused by the tool/program you used?

it is displacement and as a map I used noise (blurred)

How slow is your system? I bet you can be able to tweak the rendertime down to about 1-2 hours.
What software did you use?

Yup I know It can go faster but I wanted this in high quality... I use 3ds max + vray.
This was created mostly using vray material displacement tool(ammount:4, edge length 1px) and irradiance on 'high' preset. + HDRI.
I think that edge length thingy slowed that down... Yup ur'e righ maybe when I set that values to low It could be faster but worse quality. correct me if I'm wrong...
(my sys: old athlon ~2ghz & 1Gig of RAM)

OK. 2 gigs are a bit slow. But of course you are right. setting the values down, makes the result worse.

By the way: In Cinema4D you can use a displacement-deformer instead of a displacement funktion. If you convert it into a editable mesh you can bake down the polygon count after that.
That helps. It also helps to play with the GI(radiosity) sample values.
Rendering it with final render or vRay also saves time with the right settings.
