My main toon in the MMORPG 'City of Heroes' was named Proud Citizen and while he was a hero for the modern day he was carrying on the legacy of another hero who bore the name from the 1930's to the 1950's. Here is the original Proud Citizen as he looked when he served in Europe during World War 2.

No mystery that this figure started off as a WW2 Captain America. I gave it a new paintjob and the emblem is a waterslide transfer. The helmet was sourced from a Plan B Toys WW2 American GI figure and the First Lieutenant's bar was sculpted from Green Stuff.
