Day two of Inktober using the original 2017 Inktober prompts by Jake Parker. Featuring Southern Resident Killer Whales in an effort to bring further awareness to their plight and prompt action to save them.

"Divided" features Tokitae/Lolita and her presumed mother L25 Ocean Sun. Back in the 1960s and into the early 1970s Southern Resident orcas were captured for live display in marine parks and aquariums around the world. Their population was hit first and hit heaviest, likely numbering 150-200 individuals at that time. At least 45 orcas were captured from their population, mostly calves and juveniles. None of those orca were allowed to return to their families and today the population of wild SRKWs numbers just 74. They have yet to recover to those past numbers before the capture era. Of all those captured, only one is still alive. Tokitae/Lolita still lives in Miami Seaquarium as she has since 1970, divided from her family and all she new in her young life before she was taken.
