Description I think I know now
What this feeling is.
No sound,
No art,
No words,
Could fully describe this.
Even the most passionate songs
Can’t capture the rawness of such glee.

I thought I knew then
What this feeling was.
No sound,
No art,
No words,
Could fully describe it.
Even the most passionate songs
Could not capture the rawness of such glee.

Inundated with the fear of infatuation,
I limited the full extent of this feeling.

But I think I know now,
And I see and cringe at my mistakes.
Then I look at you now,
And I can’t help but embrace you.

I know now.
I love you,
And I’m so glad you love me too.

Poety doesn't have to be the standard ABAB or AABB from what I have observed. You just need the standard components and structure. Just look at the Poetic Edda. The poems in it are all over the place and go back and forth between prose and poetry.

I cannot really speak on categorization because my recent poetic story is more story than poem. And there is not even a surreal category for literature! And the poem I wrote that is actually a poem is more traditional.

that's true. poetry, like any other mode of art, is a tool of expression and creativity. and because of that, i guess you're right that poems can be all over the place, making it difficult to categorize.
