Description This is a photo from the North side of the Peace Arch monument, which stands in the middle of Peace Arch park at the border crossing. The Peace Arch crossing is the very last border crossing between Canada and the United States before you hit the Pacific Ocean. Back in April I walked from my house down and across the border to Blaine, Washington, and that's when I took this photo.

The North side of the monument says Brethren Dwelling Together In Unity, and the South side of the monument says Children Of A Common Mother . Inside the monument on the left and right side are wrought iron gates held open against the inner walls of the arch. Above the left one is the words May These Gates Never Be Closed and above the right one is the words 1814 Open One Hundred Years 1914 . You can view the monument a little closer here .
