Very cool. Worth the DD, for sure, but if that was all I had to say, I wouldn't have bothered with a comment. Here's the real one:
Interesting bit of contrast you've done with it, with the classic sunset beach and then what almost seems to be the guy's own dark little world growing up around him. I can just imagine that other scene creeping into the peaceful setting sun; a dark, dead-winter forest under a cold-lit moon, strewn with broken swords--maybe stuck into bodies or just rusting, naked in the frozen dirt--and, of course, the last, empty survivor gazing into nothing. Can't forget that part. Cliche though such a classic image may be, it's not hard to think of that man carrying his battles with him, warping the very land around him with the weight of old bloodshed.
Well, that's my interpretation, anyway. I could be dead wrong, of course, but I guess I'll have to give the comic a look to find out.

I haven't read your comic, but y'know of what this reminds me? Those fantasies I've had about being the last man on the planet.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had this fantasy, of what I'd do if everyone except me suddenly vanished. I'd break into the mall and take whatever I want, and build a castle out of all the discarded boxes! I'd drive around and run every red light (assuming there weren't cars piled up in the intersections), and have imaginary slumber parties at the mattress store.
There'd be downsides, yeah. I'd have to learn how to cook real fast. I'm the sort of person who's used to eating out. On top of that, I'd have to learn how to grow my own fresh veggies or get used to going town to town raiding the canned sections.
But yeah, this bloke seems to have come up with the idea of planting swords in the road as a bit of interpretive art to keep himself entertained, but then realized that nobody is around to see his work. Which, meh, could be worse. Call me a misanthrope, but I've gotten pretty sick of people, and wouldn't mind a vacation from everyone everywhere for a while.
