In the beginning, as a child, Cadance was NOT happy about the betrothal. While Shining on the other hoof couldn’t stop day dreaming about her, giving up everything he wanted to be to be with her.
Into there teens, Cadance couldn’t help but slowly fall in love with this goofy, sweet, and kind stallion.

Cadance DID have parents in this AU. However, when she was a only 5, they died from a disease that almost wiped out the entire Crystal Empire. Before they died however, they gifted her the royal Crown and gave Cadance her wings early.

Her parents were very close to Celestia. So, until Cadance turned 18, Celestia ruled by her side. Celestia actually enjoyed raising Cadance and had a lot of good intentions with her compared to her normal selfish self. Even the betrothal was given (mostly) in Cadances best interests.

I honestly love these two.
