"This doodle bag is an upcylced clutch style Estee Lauder purse that has been completely covered with one-of-a-kind, hand drawn illustrations. I simply took a twenty-four-color pack of Sharpies and got to work. The theme of this bag is the 1987 publication of Barlowe's Guide To Extraterrestrials. It's a great art book I have in my collection that is a compilation of aliens from science fiction literature, illustrated by Wayne Douglas Barlowe. Depicted on the purse are twenty of Barlowe's colorful creature illustrations as they appear in the book, faithfully recreated in sharpie and labeled by species name.

This purse is about 11" wide and has a minimalist navy blue vinyl cutout clutch handle that perfectly matches the retro science fiction look of the bag. I used to make themed bags like these for my friends as gifts and they always would get tons of compliments whenever they would wear them out. The illustrations are quite durable and will last as long as the bag does if you use common sense. I would stick to hand washing or spot washing if it gets dirty, for instance, just to stay on the safe side. This purse comes signed by me, along with the name of my Etsy store if anyone asks you where you got it…and you know they will."
