for starters i think you got meouths look of mischief and silliness spot on,although i thought the texture for stuff like shading and outlines was a bit off, in other words it seemed uneven texture wise. however you captured meouths personalty perfect with this one picture. overall i would say this picture over all was nearly perfect the texture was in my eyes almost perfect too i was just nitpicking a bit, Great work cant wait to see more, now quickly going back to texture, i just felt like in some places it was a tad overshaded and my eyes keep looking around for the over shaded spots, this is not that big of a deal it just kinda left an eye sore for me, evreything else how ever i would say was spot on, keep up the good work

Thank you! Some times the textures seem to pop more in the darker areas because you can see it better, over a lighter color it is less visible and maybe that's why your eye seems to be jumping to those areas?

A picture speaks a thousand words and this one here is no exception. This picture of Meowth conveys the details that show Meowth is not a Pokemon that should be overlooked. This deviation shows that it is a fan of the shiny objects through the shading used on the coin/amulet that is on Meowth's head this is shown through the lighter shading which represents a shine on the object.Speaking of shading the shading used on this picture shows the appropriate areas where shadows and light should be and each one manages to transition smoothly into the next part of the shading. As for the stance that is shown in the picture a very unique approach is given as opposed to a default pose that one would typically see. Another thing about the picture is the expression that is shown in the picture which is also a different take on the expression that one would normally see. Overall the picture has quite a few different points to it which each deserve the praise given about them.

Thank you! Every time I do a new piece it helps me improve. Whether that be the shading and how to figure out how a light source casts a shadow and the light bends around the body or how a certain Pokemon looks anatomically in a certain position, I am constantly trying to improve and it's nice that people notice the slight changes of improvement I try to grasp in every new piece

Let me get this straight, I honestly believe this piece of art of yours is outstanding and possibly perfect. In fact, Meowth is one of my favorite Pokemon and I clearly prefer him over Pikachu. However, I might have some slight issues with this picture. First of all, his left eye appears a bit out of shape and the top tip doesn't appear properly centered above the eye. Also, the more feralish appearance appears not to what I have in mind, which I'm totally used to the Meowth that belongs to Team Rocket, the one that can speak human language, but that may be just my opinion. Anyway, the rest appears most likely perfect, although the bottom shine streak on the forehead coin amulet bothered me a little bit.
In conclusion, the overall picture is perfectly authentic, both foreground and background. Before I end this critique, I may suggest you try doing artwork for at least some of the 567+ Pokemon from later generations if you would like to, but you're still a pretty remarkable artist anyway, so keep up the good work. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/t/t⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

Thanks for the awesome critique! I will get on doing other Pokemon after I finish this Pokedex haha, if I don't do a Kanto Pokemon every time I draw it'll never get done! But I do see where you're coming from, it can get kind of repetitive. I want to eventually do some multi-character pieces and animate more of the solo drawings.Β
