Description There are a lot of unnecessarily reckless things that people do in the world simply for the sake of a thrill. This got me thinking, what would the equivalent be for civilians in a world as already dangerous as Felarya? The answer- giantess tongue rodeo riding!

So here are the general principles behind it:

Giant nagas, faeries, harpies, dryads, humanoids, and other magical creatures are found by scouts and asked if they would like to participate. In most cases the creatures accept because they are often guaranteed a few free meals for participating.

The giant creatures are given temporary piercings through their tongues (it’s quite painless and the hole heals almost immediately after the studs are removed). The studs are customized with specialized grips that the competitors use in an attempt to keep themselves from being flung out of the mouth or swallowed.

The giant creatures are given various foods and liquids prior to the start of the competition to give their tongues more texture. This makes it a little easier for the competitors to grip the tongues and helps to curb the appetites of the creatures slightly to prevent them for gobbling up the spectators while waiting around. However, this small ‘advantage’ is soon lost once the creatures begin to build up an excessive amount of saliva.

The various class divisions are based on the amount of time competitors must hold on, for example:
The first level- ‘Little Lickin’- requires that competitors hold on for a minimum of 15 seconds.
The highest level- ‘Gob Smacked’- requires that competitors hold on for 24 hours! While there are no 'official' records of anyone ever having completed this challenge in the sport’s 5,000 year history, legend has it that a young man with a distant gaze and an unbreakable grip managed to do so. Unfortunately, his name has been lost to the bowels of antiquity.

Competitors are not allowed to use external items to tie, chain or glue themselves to their grips; however magical spells can be cleverly used to enhance their gripping abilities- i.e. freezing one’s hand to the grip.

Competitors are disqualified upon being ejected from the creature’s mouth or upon entering the stomach. Once a competitor has lost their grip on the stud, they must reestablish it within 30 seconds. Points are deducted for every additional second they are unable to do so. It is possible for a competitor to be swallowed, clamber back up the throat and reestablish their grip without incurring a penalty if it is done within the 30 second grace period. The amount of points that can be deducted before being disqualified varies on the class division (lower classes only permit a smaller number of point deductions before the competitor is disqualified, while higher the classes allow for a larger number of points to be deducted).

Competitors are forbidden from killing, severly injuring or drugging the creatures at any point in the competition.

Competitors who are disqualified are immediately eaten.

Depending on the class division, competitors may request a limited number of timeouts; however, they must be touching the stud when calling for the timeout. Timeouts are limited to 2 minutes during which time they may receive food, water, medical attention, drying off and a chance to catch their breaths.

Creatures are not permitted to use their hands, mandibles or any other accoutrements to aid in unseating/swallowing the competitor. Only the uses of the tongue and jaw muscles are permitted.

Creatures may not use their teeth and may not bite or crush the competitors.

Creatures may also request a limited number of timeouts to rest their jaws depending on the class division.

To the victors go the spoils! Competitors who win their divisions can expect fame, fortune, and a slew of other fantastic prizes, not to mention the respect of predators all across Felarya.

The creature that successfully swallows the most competitors is also awarded a number of prizes as well, though in many cases they’re just more little morsels for them to snack on.

There are a number of other fun activities that take place during this wondrous event such as tongue tying, obstacle courses, tummy bouncing, and face painting!

That's true, but I don't think it would be much of a problem in this case. I hear cowboys taste like Jolly Ranchers. Besides, the creature could always call for a time out and request that the competitor get a little extra seasoning. A twist of lemon, a dash of pepper and a teaspoon of peppermint jelly and voila! You have yourself a delicious little snack!

My dear Karbo you wound me! Haha! No, it's not a filtered photo, though I will admit that I essentially tried to copy a reference picture.

I can't tell you how happy I am that you stopped by. You're actually the reason I started my DA account. Keep up the great work!

I dunno, I was thinking more of a lottery system to avoid any cheating, for example, if the competitor and creature had any kind of friendly relationship, or if the competitor tried to bribe the creature.

Excellent picture - very striking! The idea is humorous, too. I can just see it working in the general weirdness of Felarya. I like the goofyness of other events being organised around it - especially face painting and tummy bouncing!

I'm sure if Karbo had the time he could make a fantastic comic out of it. I'd like to try making one, but I'm not very good at drawing cartoons or anime characters.

Thank you! The skin tone gave me the hardest time. I had to use a lot of cheap photoshop tricks that I know real artists don't need to (like the burn and smudge tools).

Very interesting. The art is nice, but it is the description that made my day.

Thanks! It was only after I finished typing it that I realized how lengthy the description was. I appreciate that you took the time to read it.
