Quinn managed to wake up, barely but he was wake. Today was the day, after arrival two days ago he was finally able to get Berry out into the show ring. However, he’d have to wait until lunch. Sarah roused from the bed at the other and of the horse box and got up to get her day started.

“You awake sleepy head?” she called to Quinn as he contemplated rolling back over and snoozing till’ noon.

“Mmhm,” a non-committal response.

She just groaned, threw an oversized hoodie over her PJ’s, and left the trailer to go check on the horses for the morning. Realising he had his own horse to check on, Quinn finally gathered the courage to get out of bed, get dressed and go help Sarah with the horses.

By the time Quinn got down to the horses, Berry was not happy and refused all morning cuddles until she was fed. Jeez, the females in his life could be temperamental! Sarah was taking care of Finley; the lively stallion was already trying to swindle food from Sarah as she collected the supplements for his breakfast. Berry was just about ready to climb out of her temporary stall at the sight of Finley being fed. To stop the mare doing any damage Quinn rushed over to grab a feed bucket and start mixing the mare’s breakfast.

“Have you got a plan for today?” Sarah asked from her post at Finley’s door.

“Eh, not really, I’ve done a couple of halter shows before, so I have the just of what I gotta do, I just hope Berry behaves.”

“Oh, I think she’ll be fine, she like so show off enough as it is,” Sarah pointed out.

She was right, Berry did tend to look as flashy as possible when she knew she was being watched. The young mare would be fine.
