Those of you who are or were recently a student of Art Instruction Schools may recogixe this picture. It was featured in the 2005 edition of Illustrator magazine. Every year they hold a contest dedicated to Charles M. Schultz, creator of "Peanuts", the contest is for those who want to submit a one-page comic strip in order to win a scholarship. I was one of the top three winners. However, I and another student won half-scholaships because our strips were second best. As one of the winners, though, I had an opportunity to meet Jean Schultz, the wife of the late, great Mr. Schultz, in Minneopolis-St.Paul, but the school couldn't afford to send their students there and I couldn't afford the trip. Oh well, at least I got a card from her.
