What's the Gateway?
" If I remember correctly they were made for a project we called the gateway, which was supposed to be a hub that gave you access to different MMO worlds, from Toontown to Pirates, and other future ones. It was going to be a free access environment that gave you a preview of the subscription products. The project however never came through and these concepts were never really approved. Years later, when we started working more seriously on a Toontown 2 prototype I pushed the concept to be more humorous, cartoony, and curvy. I felt that this style was not the right one for Toontown, but as I mentioned, the concepts were not meant for a Toontown environment, but for a hub that had elements from different games and experiences. "
