This was rendered in February of this year. The following from my Renderosity post:"I first started with a stock Studio render, then I exported the scene to Lux via Reality 1.01, and I ran into problems with the lighting. The issue was with each candle flame. Each flame model is a crosshatched set of planes with a trans map applied. Currently, Reality cannot handle trans maps in lights. And since I converted each flame to a light, I had crosshatches everywhere. But, the light itself worked great in the image. So, I had an idea.
I rendered the scene again in Studio, using point lights just behind the candle flames. Then, I rendered the scene again in LuxRender until I found the image to be acceptable. I then layered the two images, erasing only the candle flames in the Lux image (it was the top layer). but then I ran into another problem.
The spell effects didn't stand out in the Lux render at all. They came out fairly well in the Studio render. So, I erased only the spell effects in the Lux layer."
Reality handles objects as lights *much* better now
