Description I MADE IT!! I made it into IGN's Top Ten Finalists for the Bioshock Art Contest!! Thanks so much to everyone who voted for me!!!

"Now, Brigid stood there, staring at Subject 15, and the model of the Big Daddy. Subject 15--another child conditioned to attach herself to a machine. Metal men, clothed in flesh--and in Rapture, metal men, enclosing flesh. Subject 15 was a child twisted, her childlike nature distorted, for Rapture's purposes--a child so much like the little girl Brigid had been.

Brigid shuddered. 'Not this one,' she whispered. 'No more . . .'

She felt herself turned inside out, as she said it. Feelings geysered up in her, seething in her heart. She was once more a child--and she would become a mother. She would be a mother with many adopted children. She could no longer treat these children as experimental subjects.

She went to the child and embraced her. 'I am sorry,' she said, tears streaming down her cheeks. 'I'm so sorry.'"

I simply adored John Shirley's prequel to Bioshock. When I read the final chapters with Tenenbaum, I loved her character even more. This particular scene stood out to me, and I couldn't resist drawing it. For those of you Bioshock fans who haven't read this book, I suggest grabbing a copy of it ASAP. It is soooooo good. And yep, that's an Alpha Series Big Daddy behind her. The book didn't specify what type it was, so I assumed it was an Alpha because of the year. This drawing was a sketch at first, and it took probably around 6 to 8 hours to complete with my Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet. Enjoy! ~

Edit: Fixed some of the lines that were irking me. Really excited to submit this to the Bioshock fanart contest!! x3 Everyone should check it out! It's on facebook if you like the Irrational Games page!

I know, right? It was one of the saddest scenes in the book for me, aside from all the other sad stuff that happened in the last 50 pages of so XD Did you like the book?

i did overall, even though you knew the fates of certain characters from playing the games, it was still sad to see them go

I plan on getting the book, but can you tell me why she wasn't beaten up by the Daddy?

When they were first training the Little Sisters to get used to the Big Daddies, Tenenbaum used a remote control to operate all of the Big Daddies' actions. Also at that point, Suchong hadn't started the bond that the Alpha series had with the Little Sisters.

I see. That makes sense. I was wondering as to why she wasn't attacked for actually hugging a Little Sister, and why Grace got a broken jaw for just approaching one.
