I've made this art of the state of Hawaii, the (for now) most recent state to become a state of the United States (in 1959, only after Alaska)Hawaii is a bit of an interesting state, because it wasn't a state created by seccessionist or settlers in another state (or purchased), it was actually its own nation from 1795 until 1898 (for almost all that time a Kingdom, until 1893, it became a Republic from 1893 until its incorporation into America)
Hawaii is a pretty unique state in the United States, it's the only state with the Union Jack in its flag, the only state with its own language (Hawaiian), with that language being the only official language of a state other than English or Spanish, and a lot of other things (especially because five of their kings are named "Kamehameha")
Hawaii is also the home to the famous Pearl Harbor, the harbor the Japanese bombed on December 7th 1941 that got America into World War II, and also the place where a false nuclear alarm occurred on January 13th 2018
