Description
Often when I make a dish I get various liquids and broths leftover; I tend to keep these and use them swiftly as the base for another recipe. Such is the case here, where I used the delicious broth from my Blackberry-Cherry Pork Loin .For this simple recipe I took 1 lb ground turkey, 1 lb Frick's ground ham, 1/4 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp salt, and 4 canning peaches (cored and chopped), browning the meat on medium. I then added 3 cups of the broth from my pork loin recipe and one 15 oz can of carrots (drained) and brought it to a boil before adding 1.25 cups mixed wild rice, red rice, and brown and white basmati rice. Dropping the heat to low, I cooked it for 20 minutes and stirred in 2 tbsp of coconut flour to thicken it up before serving. Simple and tasty. Fruit flavors really go well with work.
