Description Monument Valley, Utah-Arizona Border. A panoramic shot, which is an excuse for it's skinniness. This is one of those thumbnails that looks better on full deviation. *smile* I orginally never scanned this photo because it came back underdeveloped, I thought- washed out and faint. The scan really helped some of that, amazingly enough and I don't think it turned too bad at all. Enjoy!

Wow, this is cool. I like the grain in the sky, it makes the shot look old. It reminds me of a shot we have of my great grandmother in the California desert in the 70s. heh. Pretty cool shot.

wonderful panoramic shot, i have a similiar shot, you have a wider panoramic
looks really great, could perhaps a little bit bigger, but only in my opinion

Thank you- and yes, it could be bigger, but such is the limitations of disposable film and a bad scanner.

omg thats such a cool idea... a vertical panorama. If only you could see a little more on the left and right it would be outstanding.

I'm gonna try that somtime

this photograph is very stunning...

i like it alot.
the softness of the sky contrasts the hardness of the gravel.

I'd like to hang this on the back of a door and just sit and meditate on traveling down an endless open road, full of possibility...

hi , again I love this one because I have been down many roads like this in a different states , wishing at times not to be eturning to from where I started , to people actuallly , i dont understand how people choose to be mean and hurtful , anyway I have never been there would like to someday

I like places where there is no one on the road , I like places where the road is old or one has never been constructed upon the ground , i have seen many simple dirt , gravel roads , and I have loved most of them

one of my grandmothers lived on a redclay dirt road with only 2 houses on it , as i grew up , wild flowers grew on some of the sides , grasshopers would act up in the summer

the detail of the road is really striking. all very dramtic.

i think the composition may leave a little to be desired, though. its a bit annoying how nothing is really exactly centered or in thirds... but who cares eh?

WOW! WOW! WOW! (Can you tell I'm excited?) First off, I agree with everything bookdiva and laurak said. The vertical panorama makes this image even more intriguing as most people (but you're not like most people thank goodness!) would go horizontal but vertical makes the viewer experience everything from earth to sky or sky to earth in a much better way. Also, look at that incredibe, detailed texture (even lines) on the road! And that sky--don't get me started!

You could even take this further and manip it like crazy for a total off-world look. The possiblities are endless. Thanks for sharing!!!

I don't think I've seen a rotated panorama like this before. Make no excuses for its thinness. That makes the perspective here! Looks like the road just goes on forever. Just amazing!

Really great shot. The low sunlight creating the shadows of the rocks, the deep blue sky... it's all very good.

And the vertical panarama is very nice too...

Fine work indeed.

Wow! Awesome shot. I like the way the up and down panoramic angle makes this look, and the two rock formations off in the distance but just slightly off center are perfect! Makes me wish I could jump in and start walking down the dirt road and eventually be standing next to them.

It also reminds me of the opening scene from "My Own Private Idaho." "I think I've been here before...it looks like a f---ed up face." Great photo!

This is very surreal/ethereal, I like the textures, the tire tracks, the terrific depth leading the eye between the mountains and unknown, the blueness is wonderful.
