Cast from the heavenly kingdom above,
misery guides me in this mortal world.
Wandering alone on barren land,
leaving footprints in the wintry sand.
I walk aimlessly with no destination in mind.
Where is there to go?
What is there to find?
What is to become of this soul divine?
Questions and thoughts trouble my mind.
Desperation sinks me further down into my own abyss.
Not a tap, a touch, nor the warmth of a gentle kiss.
I sigh…never have I found answers in this undying life.
Frost hardens my already bitter heart …
I walk forever through the freezing snow,
hoping that this journey will somehow help me grow.
Time and shadow follow my every step
as the sun rises and falls through the vast sky
and the moon and stars shine down on me countless times.
One day,
as my shadow moves,
through this deserted land under the silvery moon,
a vision suddenly appears before me
and I hear a familiar voice. Could it be?
I stop.
A faint glowing figure I see.
Thoughts stop running through my head.
I feel my bitterness slowly melting as you walk towards me
with a lovely smile on your face
and your warm green eyes shining heaven’s grace.
I see you…
a memory,
my salvation,
my sanity.
I feel my bitterness slowly melting as you walk towards me
and for the first time...it is the end of my misery.
