I figured my pens and markers needed a break, so I decided to try out my new colored pencils. Been a while since I’ve done anything with those. At any rate…

THAT RING NEEDS TO DIE! I’m serious! Don’t get me wrong, I love a good D/S story, but it’s really starting to irritate me how so many people have adopted the Wes ring as the symbol of the D/S relationship. I think everyone’s forgetting a few key facts about the stupid thing;

1.) Danny had meant to give it to Valerie. (Which I wasn’t too happy about, given the fact that Sam’s name was still on it. You think Danny would be smarter then that… Then again, he was taking dating tips from Jack Fenton, of all people, so I guess that doesn’t rate his intelligence too high, ne?)

2.) The only reason Sam’s name was on it was because of Jack. (It was a little presumptuous of him to do that, but then again it *is* Jack… at any rate, Danny never intended to have it engraved to Sam, considering that he didn’t even know it existed until his dad gave it to him.)

3.) Danny did not give Sam the ring as a way to secretly tell her that he was madly in love with her. (LET THIS ONE DIE ALREADY!!!! Danny was depressed over his break up, he would’ve given the ring to TUCKER if he’d been the one to approach Danny first! It’s a total insult to Danny’s character to assume he’s shallow enough to move on just like that.)

4.) Even if Danny and Sam do get together, the ring should still be left out of the relationship. (This is just a personal opinion of mine. Recycled tokens of affection seem extremely tacky to me, and Sam deserves to get better then that. Especially given that she knows it’s a recycled token of affection. There’s no way she’ll be able to look at that ring without thinking about how it was originally meant for Valerie, which would in turn lead to her feeling totally insecure about the relationship.)

Okay… I think that’s all… Definitely feel better now that I’ve got that off my chest… DOWN WITH THE WES RING!
