DNAngel isn't shown on TV in the US, I think. It's just a series I stumbled upon by accudent and fell in love with. Most of the series I like best aren't really well known, actually... DNAngel, Full Metal Panic....

Well, I've been initiated into anime recently and have to rely on friends for my entire knowledge of the genre. I haven't seen a lot of episodes, and most I have seen are from extremely little known shows (You're Under Arrest, Yakitake Japan, School Rumble, The Irresponsible Captain Tylor...) thanks to a friend who goes in for that sort of thing. I like what I've seen, just have no opportunity to see very much. And I'm based in Canada, so we get even fewer animes than America does, which doesn't help matters.

Ah, I see... Well, I highly suggest DNAngel, if you ever get the chance! Full Metal Panic's good, too. I have yet to meet a soul who didn't like that one...

I will definitely look into those shows. There's an anime club at my university, and I have contacts... But that will have to wait until September because no one's around right now. Oh, the joys of summer vacation.

lol we don't have anythong like that at my school. Just usual clubs like Mu Alpha THeta, Art Club, Space Club, SADD and other stuff like that.

My university has a very high (I'd say over 50%) Asian population. I think that's the main reason we have an anime club (and ten Chinese clubs, a Japanese club, an Origami club, a Kung Fu club, etc...). Plus it's popular with the geeky/artistic crowd, which is also fairly large.

Lol! We tend to get a real mix of ethnicities around here, and the CCS in Detriot will get people coming in from every corner of the globe, since it's auto design class is just that good.

I love being surrounded by cultures and languages. It makes the world more vibrant . It was a huge culture shock for me when I moved to university, because I'm from a town that's, oh, about 75% white, 12% East Indian, and 12% First Nations (a.k.a. Native American). That's it. A handful of Asians and African-Canadians, and pretty much everyone speaking English. Six hours away from that, I can hear Mandarian, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Arabic, Russian, and a host of others on a daily basis. I love international centers! But major, major adjustment, for sure.
That's probably not something you'll have to deal with though. My impression of the U.S is that it's a lot more homogeneous when it comes to ethnicity even in the smaller towns. Correct me if I'm wrong, though. I don't know a lot about the States. It was never a focus in high school, funnily enough .

:shrugs: Not really... Detriot actually has a ton of culture to it that people don't know about. I think mostly because people get a bad impression of the city due to it's reputation.

What I meant was that even small American towns have a range of ethnicities and cultures, so that there isn't as big a different between cities and towns. It's funny, the only American cities I think of as having "culture" are New York, San Fransisco, L.A., Boston, Philidelphia, New Orleans, Chicago, maybe Seattle. That's probably because of TV and movies, though. The more exposure a place gets ... I know everywhere has culture, I just tend to associate it with the more famous places. Know what I mean?

Oh, that's Satoshi. He's basically a robot who breathes. (Smart and emtionless) still, he's enough of a looker to have a fan following....
