:: PERSONALITY ::
Edith is your usual child: playful, childish, odd, stubborn, etc. She's weirdly witty and clever for someone like herself. She's boisterous and very outspoken. She can get out of bad situations easily, and get herself out of trouble too. She seems to have a knack of doing so.
She loves to play and have fun, she always loved playing with her neighbors (mainly Tucker, sometimes others) and the stray animals that would wander her neighborhood. Basically, she's being the normal childish kid that all children should be. She knows exactly how to get out of trouble, coming up with clever plans and witty comebacks when it comes to arguments.
She never seems to shut up. She will speak her mind and her opinions, which some adults find as a good thing. She's the odd kid of the group. She doesn't exactly talk much sense sometimes- her imagination starts to get in the way during that time -and she will try to get herself dirty at any chance she's got, much to her parents dismay.
Edith doesn't give up and won't turn down anything. She's stubborn as all heck when she's deadset on something. She does have a bit of a fiery temper to her, and her bluntness is one to be shocked by, for someone as young as her. She doesn't beat around the bush, she'll state something like how it's supposed to be.
Likes:
- Froggy
- Cookies
- mud
- scaring people
- stars
Dislikes:
- loud sounds
- getting hurt
- people that want to hurt her and/or take Froggy away from her
- romance/romantic gestures ("it's disgusting!")
- what her life has become
Fears:
- Loud Sounds = due to 'losing' one of her senses, the others work harder to make up for that loss. So her hearing tends to make her head hurt when there are loud sounds nearby
- Thunderstorms = it's always been a fear for her. It’s scary, obviously!
- Abandonment = this obviously means losing Froggy at this point, but she has a strong fear of abandonment.
- Finding out her former loved ones died = she doesn't ever want to hear if her father, Tucker, and his family had died. It's another one of her fears she doesn't want to face.
- Getting hurt again = she felt pain once, she doesn't want to feel it again.
Strengths:
- Negative energy (of other people as it provokes her, and herself since she’s more “powerful” that way)
- Her big personality (as it'll help her in many ways)
- Good hearing
- Very deceptive
- The outdoors/her neighborhood (she knows the area well)
Weaknesses:
- Holy objects
- Her small body (so she isn't that fast when running)
- Lack of eyesight
- Very clumsy
- Being a child (even if she acts the way she does, you have to remember: she is still a child. Scared, innocent, curious, etc.)

:: INTO THE RELATIONSHIPS::
Sara-Beth | Mother | She was a caring mother when Edith was a baby. Her job made her very distant later on though, she put her job before her family, she was gone almost all day since she was one of the lead doctors at the hospital. Edith wished she would've spent more time with her though...
After her death, when she heard of how much she made her father unhappy, she got angry. She hated her. So she killed her. Now her father would be happy!
William | Father | He was the best dad Edith could ever ask for. He'd always been around for her, to help her with school work and such. She was waiting for him though, for whenever he would come and take her home (She doesn't know this, but William also refuses to have anymore kids, as he doesn't want to forget and/or replace Edith).
Tucker | Best Friend | He had been Edith's friend since they were both babies. Yes, they did have their arguments, but they were inseparable for the most part. That is, until death got in the way. She will never forget him though, she refuses to and will constantly talk about what "Me and Tucker would do"!
Froggy | Her Best Friend | Sure, Froggy is just a stuffed frog, but he’s the only friend Edith has now. She was given him by her father when she was born, and she loves and cherishes it to this day.
:: BACKSTORY ::
Childhood:
Edith was born to a newly wedded couple: William and Sara-Beth Smith Edwards ('Smith' being her maiden name). She was their first and only child. They were both happy about it, considering all their other attempts at having a child failed. Edith grew up as a wealthy kid- not 'rich', but just enough for her family's daily needs -and she got along with the neighborhood kids. The next door neighbors were the Paulson's. One of them just happened to be her father's long-time friend, Henry, and he had a son who was a year older than Edith. So his son, Tucker, became Edith's best friend. They grew up together and played with the other neighborhood kids whenever they were allowed to. Most of the time though, it was only those two.
It wasn't until she was about five-years old that she began worrying her parents- mostly her father since he tended to be the average overprotective dad. She used to be a quick learner, but was slowly losing that touch. As well as not being able to see well when she originally had her father's perfect eyesight. He took her to the doctor, and after a couple of visits, they figured out that she was developing the rare Batten Disease, specifically CLN3. It was slowly developing, thankfully, but after her father had done some research, Edith's life expectancy was between her teens and thirties, most likely when the disease would reach its peak. This was when complications began between her parents.
Her father was a scientist, so he was a naturally smart person. He helped Edith out with her homework, whenever she would have it. Her mother was a lead doctor at a hospital a little while away from their town, so she barely ever saw her. So it was just her and her father. Now, what are those complications I spoke about? It was constant fighting between the two. Her father was completely for Edith, wanting to help and find some way to cure his daughter. While her mother said it was a waste of time. She had said on many occasions, whenever they'd be on topic about her taking off more from her job, that her job as a doctor was more important than anything else. That was a kick to the gut for William, but Edith didn't understand what that meant, but from her father's reaction, she knew it wasn't a good thing. William was glad she didn't know what her mother said, as that was another problem he could avoid.
It wasn't until later that everything changed for the worse. It was a normal day at the park with her mother. It was going to be a rainy day, so she had her rain poncho and hat on. A little while later, she suffered an 'episode', you could call it, whilst following a cat and completely forgot where her mother went or where she was, for that matter. She wandered off, afraid. It had started to rain during her following that stray cat, only increasing her fears. That is, until a man pulled up in his car after a couple minutes of her wandering off- not that far from the park -and asked what was wrong. She, completely forgetting the "don't talk to strangers" rule, said that she couldn't find her mother. He said he could help her, and told her that she should get out of the rain until then, offering his car as protection from the rain. She nodded, relieved she could finally find her mother, and got into his car.
Edith wasn't seen for the rest of the day.
William was worried when he arrived back at the park to pick his wife and daughter up- he ran to do a few errands while Sara-Beth watched Edith -and didn't see his beloved daughter. He was mad as he saw Sara-Beth talking to other mothers under some shade to get out of the rain, not watching the playground at all. After searching all around for Edith, even getting out of his car to look, he reported her missing.
It wasn't until a couple days later that the search ended. William was brought bad news. The body of her daughter was found in the woods, completely destroyed for the most part. She was bruised, cuts all over her arms and legs- which they figured she attempted to escape her murderer and didn't make it -and she had a deep gash on her neck. What was the worst part though? Her eyes. They were stitched shut. When they brought her body back, they fixed everything as much as they could so it didn't look so horrible at the funeral. It somewhat worked, they made her look as much of herself as they could. William was a wreck, while Sara-Beth? She went on like it was a normal day, neglectful as always. Obviously, it made him upset, but he stayed home to prep for his daughter's funeral. He got help from his friend/neighbor, as this affected him as well, having known Edith for all her youth. Tucker was crushed, and said he would help too. He got to help with the decorations (to set around the casket), which he chose to gather her favorite things (blue and red flowers (her favorite colors), mud and frogs- sadly he had to stick with just stuffed frogs and not-exactly-mud -etc).
It was raining the next night. After a small fight between William and his wife, she left to go to her work. He would get a call later that would shock him. Sara-Beth was dead. She was involved in a car crash. They say that she probably hydroplaned and crashed, which ultimately killed her. But the wounds on her were a bit odd. A gash on her throat, they all said it was probably the glass, little scratches that seemed a bit misplaced for a car crash victim, and her eyes bled from more scratches. William had a weird suspicion of it all, but he wasn't at all upset about her untimely demise as he believed she was a horrible human being, more or less mother, for some reason he couldn't figure out. But then good news came the next day, they caught the one who murdered Edith. His name was George Arlington, a man who had escaped a mental asylum a few years back and was never located until now. Edith was one of few kids who died by the hands of this sick, deranged man. He was executed rather than putting him back in the mental hospital, he escaped from. William was glad, his daughter could now rest in peace.
William remarried later on to a wonderful woman named Ingrid Paulson, which oddly enough had been Henry's sister. Of course, it had been Henry who had suggested it all. It worked out for the best too! What he would never know, is that it was Edith who had helped him get a better life. She was dead, but she hadn't exactly been “put to rest”. She did get some sort of peace when the police caught the person who hurt her/ She got the satisfaction of hearing that he got caught- she hoped it had been him anyways, she could just barely remember his first name and she wouldn't forget it for a long time. But she knew her father wasn't happy, she knew her mother was a problem for him, so she did the one thing she could think of: kill her. So that's what she did, Edith stood in the road as she was going to work, which made Sara-Beth panic and swerve off the road and smash into a tree. Edith spoke, which terrified her mother as she knew that voice, which was now slightly raspy. And she killed her own mother. She was glad her father was happy with someone new. Of course, she assumed he found someone new. She automatically thought that once her mother was gone, he’d find someone else to be with.
Now Edith seeks out and kill the people who didn't deserve to live. Or, due to her lack of understanding death, "make the bad people never wake up again". Of course, she'll hear of rumors and such and believe them to be bad people. But when the TV talks of all the 'bad people', she knows they don't deserve to live. But her judgment is clouded due to her young mind and, now, lack of trust, so almost anyone is a bad person. Edith now haunts her neighborhood, the park, and the nearby roads of places she always walked down with her father. She appears anywhere during rainstorms, but most other times she's just haunting her street and neighboring streets, as well as the woods where her body was found and her favorite park (the one where she was at before she was killed).
Though she continues to wait for her father to come for her, she wonders what's taking him so long...

:: FUN FACTS ::
- Edith's middle name is Valerie, making her initials EVE :3
- She doesn't understand what happened to her, other than the fact that she can't see and has weird abilities. She doesn't know what's going on. She's scared, she wants to go home...
- Edith speaks to Froggy as if he were alive and acts as if he actually talks back (most likely due to the prolonged loneliness she now feels)
- Edith will still celebrate her birthday, just in a new way! A lonely way, at that
- William's favorite part about Edith had actually been her eyes and her fiery attitude, as they reminded him of his sister, who's off fighting in whatever war is going on currently

- She does, indeed, love hide-and-seek! She always played it with Tucker.
* - Edith CAN appear to other kids at the park and play with them, although the adults are confused on who the kids are talking to and who "the girl with the stitched eyes" was, when being told who they were talking to
