Set at the start of Spring 2024, following On Rituals and Rendezvous .

"Oh, hello, Riikka," Echo greeted pleasantly. She and her companion had left Qwil behind not very long ago at all. They had set off to find the other refugees, to share the information that Qwil had in turn shared with her. But Riikka... The Alva had left the Adnos in charge while they were gone. Qwil clearly did not want to entertain Echo's questions, but maybe she could.

Echo turned her dreamy gaze onto the other wolf and asked, "Is it true that a ritual summoned the wave? Qwil was just telling me about it, but he didn't go very much into detail about the good bits. I think it scares him to think about, you know. I suppose that's why he and Bindy are leaving today. He said they were going to meet near the Dykinti Mire and that I and the others ought to come. I don't see why he's so bothered by it, but he's bothered by lots of things. Anyways, maybe you can tell me..."

Their chance meeting quickly led to an equally fortune reveal. When Malaysia found the refugees, she had told them it was their choice to be there... In Echo's mind, none of them were captives. She saw no more reason to meter her words than was usual; in seeking answers from Riikka, her blunt nature incidentally betrayed Qwil and Bindy's plan to flee.

Riikka, however, was not the only pair of ears to hear what was unveiled.
