Description

I've been trying to work up a number of male characters to go along with Dakota Ravensong and Angie (Doll Fox) Hayes. The first I tried was "Black" Jack Morgan mentioned under Summer Getaway . He was a truck driver professionally, a biker off-the-clock, and a US Marine in Vietnam. He and his wife, Diana, had a special long-standing "friends-with-benefits" relationship with Dakota. I built Jack on Genesis 3, but was never happy with the results. Here I went with Genesis 8 instead, using the incredibly cool Novak as a base mixed with Ryker, then making more alterations as I saw fit. The result looks younger than I imagine Jack Morgan, but acceptable.

The problem, however, with having just Jack to use in DAZ Studio is that he only goes with Dakota, not Angie. There are more men to consider and I've spent hours browsing the DAZ store for suitable Genesis 8 (rather than 3) Males. Its time to expand that section of my library.

Going with the series of men from Angie's life would be easiest to develop since her list of partners is considerably shorter and all but one are important men from Dakota's life, too. There's Dr. Bram Cutter, of course, but he was only intimate with Dakota, so then Chris "Outlaw" Cotton, Luke Barton, and Mark "The Beast" Hayes. There were three Army buddies, good friends of Chris and Luke, who came to visit once in awhile from somewhere out West - Shawn, Derrick, and Sutherland. Angie first, then Dakota after her got to be very familiar with that crew. Mark Hayes is - was - most important. Angie and Dakota lived with him at the same time, one of the best periods of their lives; they loved Mark. I saw a character in the DAZ store - Hudson HD - that looks a lot like I imagine Mark Hayes, so I'll have to pick him up, but he requires Christian 8 which I don't have yet. There's another character requiring Christian 8 - Bain - that would be really good for the second lover Dakota and Angie share several years after Mark passed away: Jason Graves, a mechanic Dakota met under strange circumstances who reminded her strongly of Mark in some very interesting ways.

The recurring theme for all these men is that, with the exception of Dr. Bram Cutter, they were soldiers - Vietnam veterans. Morgan was a Marine, and the rest were Army. Graves was Special Forces. And all of them enjoyed riding and working on Harley-Davidson motorcycles. They didn't belong to clubs, didn't feel the need for them. Bram might not have been a soldier, but he was in the Army at one point. Going back further for Angie, the much-older man she'd been involved with before Chris had served in WWII.

Update: As luck would have it all three items - Christian 8, Hudson, and Bain - went on sale in the DAZ store the morning after I uploaded this image, so I have them now. Edit: I completely forgot about Jack's younger brother, Rob Morgan, yet another ex-military biker Dakota was very close with prior to her involvement with Bram Cutter. I can use the Novak base for Rob, too, or I could even use this version for Rob. He's slightly bigger than his brother - a little taller, a bit more solid. Then I could go with just Novak himself, the base character, for Jack Morgan. Oh! And that gives me a great idea for Rob. He'll be the one Dakota and Angie share rather than Jason Graves, but he and Graves both wind up as bodyguards for several of the women Bram Cutter experimented on.

Thanks! I like him a lot, too, so I decided that this should be the younger brother, Rob Morgan. Jack's important, but Rob gets involved with a lot more characters.

I like the work, it shows talent and a study in though and form, however think i might rethink the eyes to a darker and bit more mysteryΒ  shade. but that is just me.

Thank you very much. I was actually thinking about that myself: giving him dark eyes. There were a few tiny things I wanted to fix, so maybe I'll try rendering it again with a different eye color.

Thank you! I just wish I could get the some of the qaulity into mine that your portraits have. It's a bit beyond me.
