This is a redo of this comic (which is now in Scraps): wisp2007.deviantart.com/art/Ap…Back when Gar was more Sonic FC-y than he is now (He is still, just less so than before), I did experiments to see how he would look without any sort of body or legwear besides the gloves and the shoes, like most male characters in the Sonic series usually are. Those experiments failed because he ended up looking more like Tails than he already did (and let's face it, he does look a bit like him already).
Comparing this version and the older version, I think this one really does look a lot better.
Also, I reverted back to the old eyes for Snakey- I'm more comfortable with those ones.

You probably won't change your mind after reading this since it's been four years now and you're dead set already, so I'm probably just wasting my time. But here goes. -shrug-
Honestly, your reasoning seems kinda... flawed there, no offense. If he already looks like Tails before this comic, then why not redesign him completely so that he doesn't look like Tails at all? You could remove or reduce the number of bangs, change his eye shape, make his face fluffs a bit different, and change his frontal body fur so that it looks different while keeping him unclothed. That's what I would've done at least if I wanted my OC to not resemble an already existing character.
Either that, or I could just not care about resembling something more and went for the unclothed route anyway. Besides, apart from the body fur which I would indeed change a bit, your character already looks unique enough from Tails while unclothed. He's actually cuter like that, btw. But this is coming from someone who prefers his Sonic/Klonoa characters to be unclothed anyway, so... -shrug-
And that's my two cents. Your choice to take it or leave it.

I think the clothless-style does works on Gar. And I gotta say, this does look much better than the previous one. Their expressions seem better in this one, it's more fitting. Also, isn't Gar supposed to have a scar on the side of his chest or something?

Ah, I see. Yeah, if the scar was canon, he kinda would resemble Scourge a little, hence having scars in nearly the same places as him. But I wouldn't say that it would resemble him too much. Even though Scourge has 2 giant ones going practically all the way across his chest, while Gar would have just a little one on his side.
