Have you ever seen it?

Whenever you try to teleport in Wizard101 or enter an area while everything is still loading? All you could see were a few wizard avatars and red silhouettes of creatures that are actually pets. Then on occasion, there is one Wizard whose clothes are entirely white. I merely thought that he was part of a loading wizard, but soon realized that I was DEAD wrong...

It all started when I was playing on Wizard101 on December 21, 2012, after a lot of people laughed at the so called "Doomsday" crap. I was poofing from one place to another, and every time I did this I keep seeing that same "Wizard". All dressed in white. After finally beating Kol Shadowsong in Grizzlehiem, I logged off and did some random youtube searching. What caught my attention was a video that had a wizard avatar EXACTLY like that of the loading wizard. I clicked on it and watched the video.

The Wizards name was "Steven".... Nothing else. The uploader's name was "W101fanatic222". I kept watching and noticed that he was only a level 6 Balance Wizard (Or in our terms, a "Sorcerer"). He was just running around asking-actually more like demanding other people to add him as a friend. Other Wizards merely responded with "Why" and "Noob" and occasionally, a menu chat text of "Please, stop bothering me". The duration of this video was two minutes long and that's all it contained. Just Steven running around in the Commons, demanding to be friends.

I thought that it was a total waste of my life, until I noticed a link in the description. The link lead to his blog. Almost like the blog of "The Friendly Necromancer", but more... eerie. I read a recent entry that was posted on December 4th, 2011. The title read "Goodbye Forever". I believed that it was just random crap about him leaving Wizard101 for good. Instead, I read that he committed suicide. I only rolled my eyes and continued onto Youtube.

The next day, me and my friend Waylon were on my computer playing (you guessed it) Wizard101. I just signed into my Level 47 Death Wizard, Devin HexCaster. The only good Wizard I have. The other Wizard I have is an Ice Wizard named Sabrina WinterShade. She's okay, but only a Level 23. I was back at Grizzlehiem, and was fighting random Ravens for their feathers before entering the castle to fight the Coven. Waylon liked to see me use all the neat Death Spells, especially the Steal Spells, like "Vampire", "Scarecrow" and my favorite, "Dr. Von's Monster". Normally obtainable at level 68, but I managed to hang around the Bazaar long enough to snag me a few copies.

After collecting all those blasted feathers, I made my way back to talk to what looked like the Jade Oni, but was a Gate Demon summoned out of his own will to put up a magical barrier for the Coven. But when I entered the cave, I didn't see the Oni anywhere. Instead, there was Steven. I thought to myself that this was weird as I didn't see him nearby when I was fighting Coven Initiates, or the Winterwing Wardens. I heard Waylon asking "Who's that?" as he pointed to Steven on my screen. I was about to answer when a quote bubble appeared from Steven saying "Add me! Now!" and an option appeared, reading: Steven, level 6 Balance wants to add you as a friend. Yes or No". This was beginning to confuse me, considering that Steven is a level 6. There is no way in Hell he could managed to have gotten to Ravenscar, unless he had a premium membership, or bought the area in crowns. Without hesitation, I clicked "No".

Steven began to jump around as text after text appeared from him saying "Grrrr!". Waylon only laughed slightly as he thought that Steven's anger was a tad amusing. Steven stopped hopping and looked back to my Wizard, with a bit more malice in his normally fixated expression now, and once again, another text bubble appeared, saying "You Should have added me!" and all of a sudden, a random battle was engaged. I thought this was HIGHLY odd. A player can't PVP with another in Ravenscar. Tossing that out the window, I thought this will be fun. I had a few good spells in my hand and got 2 Power Pips. One from my "Cerulean Edge" and one from pure luck. I discarded a card and drew my "Dr. Von's Monster" Treasure Card. I mentioned how fun this will be to Waylon. He only laughed.

A few turns have passed and I managed to attach a feint, Death Trap and a Curse on him, while I had a Spiritual Blade and Death Blade on me. I finally got 9 pips and casted "Dr. Von's Monster". It did its animation where Dr. Von Katzenstein was assembling the last part to his monster before bringing to life. He made his way to rotate the abomination and pulled a nearby switch weakly. The electrodes shocked the monster and brought it to life. I shouted "Fuck Yeah!" when I got a critical. I managed to have absorbed 1050 out of his health which was originally 600.

However, instead of Steven being defeated, he casted a Death Spell. Waylon and I looked at each other in shock and confusion and looked back at Steven. He casted a Wraith spell and somehow managed to have defeated ME. It took all my health, and gave half to Steven. And instead of me going back to Grizzleheim or even resuming back at Ravenscar, my Wizard just collapsed, like when you defeat Jacques the Scratcher in Marleybone. Steven then approached my avatar and yet another text bubble appeared.

"Now you will PAY!"

I freaked out as he actually seemed to be looking at me and Waylon, so I logged off asap. But instead of seeing my wizard standing normally, she only appeared to just be lying... Dead. Even the name at the top read "Devin HexCaster, Level 0 Necromancer (Deceased)". At that point I panicked and turned off the game.

The next day has passed and I was too scared to go back online. but with enough courage, I went back online, hoping that it never happened. When I made past the Wizard101 Title screen, I was met with what used to be my Wizard, now a mere skeleton, lying there like I left it. Sabrina was gone too, so I closed the game and checked the message boards to see if anyone else came across Steven. I checked on the Wizard101 homepage, as well as Legendsofthespiral.com. There was no mention of Steven anywhere, so I logged into my LotS account and asked if anyone came across Steven. the response I got was "Who's Steven? What's his last name?" I typed "He doesn't have one."

I immediately got a response asking "Where did you see him?"

"In Ravenscar... Strange thing was, he was only a level 6."

A reply states "That is strange. When did you meet him?"

"Yesterday."

"That's impossible. He dresses in white, right?"

"Ya! That's totally him!"

"He died a year ago."

I groaned as I typed "No, he didn't."

I then received a link to an obituary site that showed a sixteen year old named Steven who committed suicide, for reasons unknown.

I talked to the staff at Kingsisle about my situation (Excluding the scary shit) and they managed to got my wizard again back at level 47. And to this day, I hoped I never see Steven again. If I did, I better not decline him again...
