DD well and truly deserved here, and the work quite undervalued it seems

Wonderful! I like the colors and how it looks overall. For some reason, I remembered Ursula from the Little Mermaid when I spotted this at the bottom of the page.
I am sometimes amazed that many DDs are not received until years have past since the art has been submitted.

I honestly don't believe that this is all made out of one piece of rock. So well done!

I think of your five pieces up so far, this one has the best interrelation, contrast, and play between the textures and forms.

youre understanding of stone and moreso comand of it is beautiuful - you bring out such natural forms as if it were always there in the stone like that- and all you needed to do was brush away the surrounding stone-
to me a marble sculpter should not have to forse a form into stone but mearly reveal its underlying life- and i see this in your works they dont appear to be fighting with the shape you give them

The curves of its arms are so lovely and sensual, and I love the smoothness of the octopus contrasting with the roughness of the stone... I want to touch it! Great idea, too... octopi are too much underrepresented in art

this is awesome! did you carve the Marble then put the limestone around it or the other way? are you selling any of your sculptures?

The entire sculpture is a single piece of rock. The differences in tone are achieved solely through differences in surface finish. Shiney black is highly polished the rest of the stone is left somewhat rough. The reason why I've listed the stone as both marble and limestone is because some call it one and others call it the other. I do sell my work. Most people buy directly from me although I do have my work in a couple of galleries.
