This piece is not in any way intended to relate to when it is appropriate to marry, or when it is appropriate to unmarry.
In this piece, the forth panel is to describe how damaging a separation can be for both sides.

well, similar to marriage where the two are one, but this displays the damage done in divorce, that the two that were made one cannot cleanly separate; both being torn, broken
