Description
Chapter 1: A New Device; A New WorldIn the underground Rover H.Q., the five super powered canines, called the Road Rovers, slowly prepares for another exciting adventure, given by their master, Professor Shepard.
The leader of the Rovers, Hunter the Golden Retriever, leans against the wall of the base, reading the Complete Edition Road Rovers Comic.
"Hello Hunter," called Colleen the Collie. "What's you reading there?"
"Hey Colleen," Hunter replied happily. "I'm just reading this old comic."
"And you just going to do that all day?" Colleen asked.
"Sure I could. There hasn't been any trouble lately."
"Well...I hate to admit, but it has been rather dull without Parvo...you know...trying to taking over the world and all."
"Maybe later, you could come and play fetch with me at the open field."
"Oh Hunter, you've been to kind to me." she said politely, but secretly shook her head in amusement, as she not as fond in tennis balls as her partner.
The headquarter's intercom went off. "ATTENTION ALL ROVERS! PLEASE ATTEND TO THE MAIN CHAMBER AT ONCE! I REPEAT, PLEASE ATTEND TO THE MAIN CHAMBER AT ONCE."
"Well looks like Master whats to us for something." Hunter said. He rolled up the comic he was reading and stuffed it into his back pocket. "Care to come with me, Colleen?" he asked with an outstretched had.
"Well....Sure, why not." She placed her had into his, and, together, they walked down the hallway.
In the main chamber of Rover H.Q., Hunter and Colleen meets up with the other Rovers: Exile the Siberian Husky, Blitz the Doberman, and Shag the half-turned Sheepdog; who were also waiting for the Master's announcement.
"What took you guys so long, snowstorm?" Exile said in his Russian accent. "Master would be coming soon."
"Yaw! You guys are late." Blitz supported in a heavy German accent. He then proceeds to Colleen and took her hand. "But you are still as lovely as ever, Colleen."
Colleen snatch her hand back before Blitz could lay a kiss. "Hello there, Bob." she said dully.
"But Colleen, I had told you already a thousand times. My name is Blitz." he complained.
"Whatever you say, Bill." she teased.
"Uuuugh."
Hunter turned to his pal, Shag.
"So Shag, anything new happening lately?" Hunter asked.
"Ruff Ru-ruff Woof Ruff Woof Woof Ruff." Shag muttered.
"The Master has a new device for us?" Hunter translated, in which Shag nods his head in response. "But why do we need it, we had already beaten General Parvo."
"You are correct, Hunter." A voice called out.
All the rover turned to the source of the voice. "Master!"
"The Road Rovers had defeated General Parvo," the Master started. "But that doesn't mean he will not try again. He will return with tougher challenges for you all."
"No offense, Master, but we all know this." Exile questioned. "What is more to learn?"
"I am glad you ask, Exile. But it is not what I can teach you, but what you can teach yourself."
All five Rovers looked at each other and scratched their heads in confusion. "We don't understand, Master."
Their Master simply smiled. "This is where Professor Hubert comes in. Professor Hubert!"
Before the Rovers, a blood hound in a scientist coat enters, pushing some sort of upgraded golf cart.
"What is that do-hickey?" Exile asked.
"Well here is standardized Rover Replay Buggy." the beagle explained. "It allows the user, or users, to recapture his actions in a particular time and space sequence, in which vigil focus and concentration shall reveal the secrets of..."
"Um. Excuse me governor," Colleen interrupted. "But is it possible if you could repeat that in a more clearer term?"
"You simply re-watch your previous battles in the past, and check for flaws or skills you could improve." Hubert rephrased.
"That seems neat." Hunter commented.
"All you need to do is to sit into the buggy, insert you Rover Dog Tags, and..."
"Oh. And what makes you think we would willingly set foot into this machine of yours, hmmm." Blitz challenged.
Professor Hubert held out five pairs of special glasses. "It's in 3-D!"
All the Rovers looked at each other for a moment, then back to the buggy.
"Race ya!"
"I call shotgun!"
"No, Me! I get shotgun!"
"Have you blokes ever heard of 'ladies first'?!"
"Ruff! Ruff! Ruff!"
From a distance, the Master shook his in stress at the sight of the scene. "I should have chosen cats." he muttered to himself.
Deep in the heart of his evil lair, General Parvo prepares his next evil scheme.
"Ms. Groomer! Is the time machine ready for its next diabolical mission?"
"Everything is ready, Parvo." she said plainly. "But what do you need this old hunk of junk? Last time you tried, you turned into a cat! Why should it work now?"
"Because Groomer, THIS time I don't try to erase those mutts from existence, I just need to send them to dog pound, permanently."
With a press of the button, the time machine whirled and revealed a glowing portal in time. Parvo then threw on a cloak and proceed to the spiraling gate.
"Should I pack you belongings, sir?" Groomer asked.
"No, Ms Groomer." Parvo answered with a sly smile. "In fact, our move wouldn't require packing at all. Muuahahahahahahaha!" With that he step into through the portal, and reality around it started to bend.
Back at Rover H.Q., the Rovers were laying on the floor, reflecting on their past battles, except for Hunter, who continued to read his comic. Colleen scoots closer to him.
"Hey Hunter, do think this armor makes me look fat?" she asks sincerely.
"Huh. What! No! Of course not, you look fine Colleen." Hunter replied.
"Oh. Thank you, Hunter. What was I thinking?"
"I don't know about you two," Blitz intervened. "But I think I have a strange obsession with biting peoples tushies."
Exile stood up immediately. "You think! You had always been a weird boy."
"What? I was just saying." Blitz said defensively.
"Ruff Ru-ru-ruff." said Shag.
Hunter puts away his comic and stands up. "Shag's right. We shouldn't be fighting each other, we are friends. Hubert's machine wants us to improve ourselves, then what better way than to improve are relationship with each other. Am I right?"
Exile and Blitz looks to each other. "Yeah." "I guess so."
"Good." Hunter said in a smile. "Let's start soon. Its not like trouble is going to brew in the next second."
Unfortunately for Hunter, the headquarter's alarm went off.
"What?!?" all Hunter said.
"ATTENTION, ATTENTION! CODE OMEGA! I REPEAT, CODE OMEGA!"
All the other rovers stand up. "What's going on here?"
Professor Hubert came huffing into the chamber. "Rovers run! There has been a great disturbance in the delicate fabric of space and time, threads are snapping as we speak."
"In English!" all the Rovers yelled.
"Time is changing, and the spacial rift is coming this way. LOOK!"
Indeed, everything in sight was shifting and bending as reality was changed.
"Let's hit the road Rovers,..... and I do mean NOW!"
All the Rovers and Hubert dashed away from the income wave of temporal disturbance. However, Professor Hubert slips on a tennis ball along the way.
Hunter stopped at his tracks. "HUBERT!" He tried to reach for him.
"No Hunter! It is to late for me!" The curtains was close to his heels. "You must take the buggieeeeeeeeeeee..." He became no more than a wisp as the curtains pass over him.
"Hunter, Come on!" Colleen cried.
Using his super-speed, Hunter ran away from his spot, collected every member of his team, and buckled them into the Rover Replay Buggy.
"Hunter, I don't this buggy would go." Blitz said nervously.
"We have to try something Blitz. Everyone! Insert you dog tags!"
As they did, the buggy came back to life. Hunter, with his super-speed, pushed the buggy into a rolling motion before re-buckling himself in. The buggy wobbled and swerved as they tried to avoid the changing time-stream. Their tracks was close to an end as the curtains were closing in on them.
Hunter turned to his friends. "Rovers, it has been an honor working for you guys."
"Same here."
"Ruff"
"It's the end."
Colleen was the only one who had said anything yet.
"Hunter, before we die, I would like to say something. I l... I lo... I love y.."
Before she could finish her sentence, the buggy was in close impact to the curtain, to oblivion. Fortunately, the buggy disappeared in a flash a light before it could.
The buggy landed heavily, the equipment was badly damaged, and all the Rovers were scattered from the machine.
"Is this it?" Blitz asked, unsure. "Are we dead?"
Hunter slowly got up, muscles tense. "I-I don't think so."
Exile surveyed the surrounding. "Looks like downtown to me, except all the windows are smashed."
"Woof Woof Ru-woof" Shag said.
"Shag may be right, all the repairmen may be slacking off." Hunter said. "And I thought they were paid enough."
"Hey guys!" Colleen called out. "You blokes might want to check this out."
All the other Rovers came to Colleen side, and gaze into her direction. Their faces were in complete shock. Many rubbed their eyes to dispel the illusion. Blitz even used one of his sharp claws in attempt to awaken himself from a dream. But it was all too real. Ahead of the Road Rovers was a rusted statue of General Parvo, their arch nemesis, holding a dog skull in his clutches.
"Guys," Hunter started slowly. "I don't we're in Kansas anymore."

Reminds me of Injustice: Gods Among Us, Justice League - A Better World Parts 1 &2, and Superman TASΒ Brave New Metropolis. All of which out main characters find themselves in an alternate timeline/dimension where things are altered.

Wow. This is a pretty intense sounding story. From the sound of it, it seems like the Rovers have been transported to the future... Where Parvo has taken over...

It does sounds intense, but later in the chapters, it turns out to be more than it seems. Is it really a dark future or an alternate present? (Time itself had always been complicated). This story has many complicated riddles waiting to be solved, but it is till Ch. 8 when the riddles unfold themselves. In a sense, my Drama may really be a Mystery.

Current Riddles you could consider about:
* Why does Hunter receives the least Chrono-Shock?
* Who is Commander Lock-Jaw?
* What did happen to Muzzle?
* Who really rescued Lucky?
* What with the Road Rovers Comic?
(These should only be considered, not answered. Some things should not be revealed before their time.)
