No, this member of the Eternals may be familiar to Avengers fans or long time Vector Vengers readers. All 17 of you.⁣

Like all Eternals, this guy walked the Earth a long time and was often mistaken for other heroes of myth. Everyone from Perseus and Hercules to Samson to Beowulf. Anytime there was a monster to hunt and slay, there he was....just killing beasts and not really caring what name you called him. ⁣

But all that interfering in human affairs got him in hot water, and the Prime Eternal, Zuras, banished him. Languishing alone away from both civilization and his fellow Eternals, this man became known in some circles, using hushed tones, as The Forgotten One. (But not, like, very big circles, because, y'know...he was forgotten).⁣

When the Celestials came again during their 4th "Host" to judge whether Earth deserved to continue to exist, Sprite got The Forgotten one out of retirement to help. Which, sorta got him killed, adrift in space. Oops.⁣

Well, he got rescued by a Celestial known as The One Above All, and sent back to Olympia with a message: "keep your nose out of Celestial business, jerks." Message delivered, he began to call himself simply "Hero." But that was dumb and confusing so he stopped. ⁣

Later, he joined the actual Avengers, taking on one of his old aliases, Gilgmesh. Dressed like a bull for some reason. Old people can be weird.⁣
