So ol’ Quasar loses the Imperial Guard he was tangling with, carrying an unwilling Captain Atlas along for the ride. He manages to find a large fleet of Shi’ar ships being built, but before he can investigate, he is nearly attacked by et another flying person in space who in counterintuitively on fire. In space. Where there’s no air.⁣
⁣
But, hey…this is actually someone longtime Vector Avengers readers know….Carol Danvers, formerly known as the Avenger Ms. Marvel! ⁣
⁣
Weirdly, superhero fan, ex-S.H.I.E.LD. agent, and an Avenger dedicated to doing his homework, Quasar, has no idea who she is. Maybe he doesn’t read X-Men comics.⁣
⁣
See, after being unceremoniously written out of the Avengers title and our dimension years before (it was gross and involved mind control and a forced pregnancy and a strange man taking her to another dimension while she was enchanted…which the Avengers literally just let slide), Carol comes back only to be attacked by her enemy, Mystique. Mystique used her misguided ward Rogue in the attack. You might know Rogue from the X-Men. Rogue can absorb powers and memories just but touching someone, but with Carol it went wrong…absorbing some of Carol abilities and personality permanently. Professor X helped repair Carol’s mind as best he could, and later, on a space adventure also involving the Shi’ar, Carol gained new powers. Becoming even more powerful she took the name Binary.⁣
⁣
Sadly on returning to Earth she discovered Xavier had also taken in Rogue to help her through the trauma she was experiencing as well. Carol, angry at her attacker being there, left Earth and joined up with a band of adventuring space rebels called The Starjammers.⁣

Again, Quasar did not know or care about this and just stuck Binary in a freaking bubble. He does that. Rude. Luckily other Imperial Guard show up, break her out, beat up Quasar a bunch, and escape with Atlas.⁣
