Another former Avengers West Coast orphan, Clint Barton, better known as Hawkeye, arguably had a worse time recently than the rest of his sad sack ex-teammates.⁣
⁣
Right before the team was disbanded, they got caught up in some sort of mystical nonsense fighting the demon Mephisto. Sadly, the battle ended with the love of Clint’s life (although his ex-wife) Bobbi Morse, the Avenger code-named Mockingbird, dying at the hand of the powerful under worldly monster. No joke, that’s just sad. Even when you know comic characters never stay dead.⁣

Hawkeye hung around briefly, but soon quit without warning. He even missed the unfortunate meeting where the team was done away with. He should have filled out the bereavement paperwork with HR first, I guess.⁣
⁣
Venturing off on his own, Hawkeye got into some weird adventure involving Viper and a bunch of other bad guys, something about animal-human hybrids and…well, just weird stuff. He was actually in over his head and got roughed up a bit.⁣

Lucky for him War Machine showed up, took him to his superhero tailor, and Clint got a new Hawkeye suit out of the deal. ⁣
⁣
After some bumbling around on his own, Clint started teaming up in a testosterone-fueled trinity called “Brothers In Arms” with U.S. Agent and War Machine boring out the rest of the unofficial team. Weirdly with that name there was very little hugging. But perhaps I misunderstood the assignment.⁣

Clint never officially joined Force Works but he was sort of around a bit, and logically he would have. Had the comic not been a huge mess that got canceled in less than 2 years. Geez, they killed his wife and also his friend for all this hot fresh 90s newness? Just to get canceled? Dang, that’s rough.⁣
