Sharon Carter was born into a wealthy family in Richmond, VA (RVA represent!). Growing up, her Aunt Peggy told her many exciting stories from her days fighting in World War II along side the legendary Captain America. Sharon, inspired by these stories, decided to dedicate her life to similar pursuits. Once grown she enlisted in S.H.I.E.L.D. where she was designated "Agent 13." Little did she know that she'd end up working with the recently returned Captain America himself.

While transporting a dangerous WMD S.H.I.E.L.D. had intercepted from the terrorist organization Hydra, Sharon was attacked by Batroc the Leaper, who had been assigned to recover the weapon. Luckily Steve Rogers took notice of her and, struck by how much she looked like an old flame of his from the War, investigated. As Cap, he ultimately helped her defeat Batroc, and also prevented the now damaged weapon from destroying all of NYC. That turned out okay, so we'll just ignore that Cap was kind of stalking a random woman.

Agent 13 teamed up with Cap many more times and the two developed a romantic relationship. Taking time off from S.H.I.E.L.D., Sharon and Steve got closer still, leading Steve to find out about her aunt Peggy. After freeing Peggy from captivity by a corrupt psychiatrist, Doctor Faustus, Steve then realized Sharon's Aunt was the girl he loved in WWII. Awwwwwkward.

Sharon & Steve continued to date, which was super weird as Peggy still hung around. Eventually Sharon was seemingly hypnotized and then killed during an investigation into National Force, a white supremacist group. Which swept that whole 'I used to date your aunt" business under the rug.

Sharon later turned up alive, Nick Fury having faked her death to send her on a secret mission. A mission she disappeared on for many years. As it turned out, Sharon was held captive and disavowed by enemy forces. After some unpleasantness with the Red Skull, Steve and Sharon were reunited.
