Meet Snowbird, Alpha Flight's resident shape-shifting animal mimic. Born from the union of the Inuit Goddess Nelvanna and a human man, she was born a demigoddess. Named Narya by the midwife chosen by Nelvanna (who so happened to be the man known as Shaman), she grew to adulthood in record time and was gifted with wild powers. Literally. ⁣

Narya can shift her form into any animal native to Canada (Shaman cast a spell to tie her powers to the land of her birth), but with a white hue. White bear? Check. White owl? Check? White Eugene Levy? I dunno...probably. ⁣

Anyway, when James Hudson tried to recruit Narya to join his new team, Shaman joined the team as well to keep an eye on her. Wow. Helicopter parenting.⁣

Taking the name Snowbird, Narya proved her worth in battle, even when she was often emotionally overtaken by the animalistic instincts of the beasts she transformed into. Same, girl, same.⁣
