Being way ahead of the curve, Spider-Man started having problems with computers way back when he first started out. Which is weird, as he likes to hang out on the web so much. *crickets*

Annnnyway...meet the Living Brain. Created by one Dr. Petty -- a genius so prestigious he doesn't even rate a first name -- this machine was a product of the International Computing Machines Corporation (totally not a fake-sounding company name at all) which they claimed was "the most intelligent computer and robot in existence!" Surerre. I've heard that before, Jack.

Well, Dr. Petty, eschewing the normal paths of presenting an amazing device to the market, decided to take this wonderous thinking machine to...a High School? And of course, it was Midtown High...where Spider-Man's alter ego, Peter Parker, attends. Comics!

Allowing the students to ask one "impossible question" for the Living Brain to answer, Peter's classmates agree on one: "What is Spider-Man's secret identity?" Rut-roh!

Luckily for Peter, before the question could be answered fully, some goof-off workmen decided to try to use the robot to cheat at gambling. But instead, they damage the machine, which went on a rampage. Because c'mon...we all know all robots...even the smart ones...love to go on rampages. Regardless, this gave Spidey all the reason he had to beat-up and deactivate the intelligent cigarette machine, without all those ethical worries about destroying an expensive piece of computing machinery just to hide his secret life. Very convenient, Mr. Parker.

Anyhow, this silly robot thing shows up every so often in stories since then, mostly to be mocked. Sure, people...let's all mock the super-intelligent killer robot monster. Real smart.
